Rock Feed | March 15, 2026

Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers has died at the age of 48. Rivers was one of the founding members of the band, known for his unmistakable bass tone and stage presence that helped define the nu-metal era.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Sam co-founded Limp Bizkit alongside Fred Durst and John Otto in the mid-โ€™90s. His work on albums like Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water played a huge role in shaping the bandโ€™s signature sound and massive success.

At this time, no cause of death has been publicly confirmed. Fans and musicians across the world are remembering Sam for his powerful contributions to one of the most influential bands of their generation.

Rest in peace, Sam Rivers (1977 โ€“ 2025). Your music lives on.

When I first heard the band back in the 90s, it was the bass that really struck me and gave the band its unique sound. RIP

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅI find it crazy all of these young celebrities are dying like R&B singer D'Angelo, this guy Sam River from Limp Bizkit, R&B singer Angela Stone and a lot of others.
but these old crooked Democrat and Democrat politicians are still living like Nancy Pelosi who's 86 years old.

Joe Biden who's 82 years old, Kamala Harris who's 62 years old, Hillary Clinton who's 77 years old, Elizabeth Warren he was 76 years old Chuck Schumer who's years old, Oprah Winfrey who's 71 years old, etc

I hope the radio starts playing limp bizkit songs now. I'm so tired of hearing about ozzy d bag and the kiss my ass guy. Those bands suck the way I see it. Ozzy had some ok songs, but to me it's all hype and satan worship. LB blows those bands out of the water by a million miles and they really didn't make any songs that sucked.

So this is what happens when you kill your liver drinking. I guess he only cared about that next drink. As a fan I would be pissed that he couldn't keep together til his mid 70's like Ozzy and Ace who are true LEGENDS.

I got to see them in the 90s but I was right in front of Wes Borland who played a baritone guitar through a Galien Kruger bass rig and it was insane. But i was so ripped I barely remember it all. Just bits and badass pieces as we jumped up and down the whole time.

I'm not saying anything bad about anyone, I was a bigger Korn fan growing up but I definitely loved the first 3 Bizkit Albums and their performance at Woodstock 99 and never thought they were responsible in any way for what happened that weekend. That being said, does anyone else find it odd that so many are having so many health issues or deaths from our age group wheather it's from drinking, other substance abuse or just bad undiagnosed health issues in our age group when you see so many from our parents age groups that did way more and are still healthy in their 60's, 70's and 80's? When's the last time we heard of a celebrity from the boomer generation passing on from something like this or just from bad health who never abused anything? Look at the members of The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith or G&R. All of them partied harder than hard and they're still with us in perfect or relatively perfect health. Even I who never did anything but drink a little here and there had a major health problem this past April at the age of 43 and almost died. Actually I did die for 10 minutes but I was lucky and they saved me in the hospital but still. Even before 2020 it just seems like our age group is cursed with life ending health issues regardless if we did it to ourselves through partying to much or it was undiagnosed. I started thinking about it a few years ago but yes, my own experience has got me really thinking about it a lot more and I can't figure it out. To many have passed or been stricken with some major health problems that our parents generation and even generations before them weren't. This sux, I hope his family and the other members of Bizkit get through this and RIP Sam.
