I admired USA, before…
Already, with GW Bush, I was disappointed.
But Trump is a nightmare, and the idea that more than half of the country are supporting him scares me.
USA is the second threat for EU, side by side with Russia.

french are unfriendly to every nationality though. i as german was there a couple times with asian spanish italian friends. they were rude to all of us. everyone got the same treatment

Americans are angry and afraid of everything. Politicians (GOP mostly) feed the anger and cultivate the fear. When we act out of these two feelings, it never ends well. Agression and bullying are the result of fear and anger. And what is worse than angry people? Angry people with guns !

Americans are too busy making TikTok and YouTube videos, and saying "Thoughts and prayers", to do anything about any of their major issues.
Nothing will change – never has done.
They'll just continue to claim that they are "The best" as they always do.

“Self-absorbed and feel superior” is the dumbest thing coming out of a Europeans mouth. Considering the fact that they don’t allow us to think we have culture. They base their sense of culture off of their own definition and almost see their own culture as the “model” or “goal” of a country’s culture. French people are especially guilty of this. And the same liberal Europeans who say “you’re living on stolen land that you’re not native to” also get annoyed when you say you have Irish or German ancestry etc. What do you want us to do? Not exist? European superiority complex is real and it shows in how they treat us. I think it is very fair to say that Americans treat European tourists better than Europeans treat American tourists. “It’s because Americans don’t know how to act in Europe." Um… well neither do you. Notice how American don’t have free healthcare, live in fear of shootings, and work mic longer hours, yet still greet everyone with a smile and make small talk in the elevator. Europeans with social welfare and 5 hour workdays in a beautiful city with a relaxing life act as though they have every reason to shut people out.
Sorry for my rambling but think about that before you call us rude and self-centered.

Gauche means clumzy, in case someone wonders. Litterally "left", but "being gauche" is doing things like you would do them with your left hand (while not being a lefty, of course) and doing it all wrong. Mrs. Jones obviously got the meaning wrong, but for the rest she is very right about everything

European here. It is a shame what is happening now with Trump: pushing away your friends, neighbors, and allies for no real gain, actively damaging everyone’s economy, and losing your position in the world. People around the world are stopping seeing the U.S. as an ally or a friend, and that is very hard to come back from. Europe is a huge market and a close partner of the U.S.; this will end badly for the U.S., all because of one deranged old man.
I don’t understand how you can’t notice that he lies constantly and repeats those lies over and over until they start to look like the truth.
The EU is not your enemy. NATO came to your defense. Europe has given more to Ukraine than the U.S., even before 2025.
The U.S. once stood for something. It was a beacon to the world for doing the right thing. But now you are standing with an aggressor and blaming the victim? Trump seems to be a Russian lapdog for some reason. Overall, it is hard to understand. And now he is threatening an ally, a NATO member?
You can do better. You should do better.
