It’s Time To Admit The Truth.

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | October 22, 2025

Joe Bonamassa made it into the headlines when he announced he was leaving social media after he had a spat with a fan over his “receding hairline”. This is the nature of social media, and despite being loved for his mastery of the guitar, his looks seem to be a point of contention. Have you noticed though, that more and more recently you see less and less receding hairlines? Let me tell you why. It’s time to face the truth about being a man, especially one in the public eye.
What do you think? Did Joe overact? Or was he right to defend himself?
* (also apparently that tablet doesn’t necessarily decrease testosterone…I got it wrong. Sorry!)

Ever seen Stevie Ray Vaughan with his hat off? There was a reason for it. El Mocambo “Love Struck Baby” and you’ll understand why he stopped doing the guitar behind the head trick too

Sorry Justin, I don’t believe you. You have definitely had at least one and most probably a few hair transplants. You have more hair now than you did 15 – 20 years ago and all the Finasteride (or any other drug) in the world couldn’t do that!

Shaving it off is the path of least resistance. Trying to hide it or cover it up is such a waste of energy.

But whether you shave it or grow it out, it's about accepting what's gone.

Transplants, systems, medication… These are options, but most people don't go down those routes, and shaving it is probably the most common means of moving on

Basically, expanding on my previous comment, I'm mostly with Bonnamassa here. I get that he's a well-known public figure and you're going to deal with that online sometimes. However, that doesn't make being a troll okay and, let's face it, we've every last one of us dealt with one on the wrong damn day, you know? I get how he feels. It's like when some online, faceless nobody gets on something like the Joe Rogan podcast (or that of any martial artist or pro athlete) and criticizes something they could never do. And, likewise, too often they come with some irrelevant point like, in this case, hair, which has no impact on the man's talent as a musician. I just feel like everyone gets tired of trolls at least once in their lives and lets them have it.

Greetings from the US; I was super-interested finding out you had a channel (and quite glad I did). My take is simple. Leave the man alone and let him play his guitar as he does likely better than any rando online and if he's tried of social media, that's his choice.

The trick in life is to face your shortcomings and laugh at them yourself, it takes away all power from ridicule because once you show hurt people will never leave it alone

People like to taunt others. People like to make others feel inferior in order to feel better about themselves. Or they're just cvnts. It's sad but that's humanity. 6 million people were killed in a genocide less than 100 years ago what can you say, that's what's in us.

Hair is an adornment, pure & simple. Most people's hair thins as we age. You cannot stop time. Live in the moment means acceptance of the changes, work with what you have, & do your best. Under your crown, is a brain. That's where it really counts. If you lose your mind because of vanity, you haven't anything. BAV

Man, it's crazy that such a public figure could let one instance of teasing effect him like that – to the point where he's about to get on stage, thinking about the troll that burned him on the website formerly known as twitter. From someone born into this tech-comm society it just seems silly..

When Joe wrote, "I'm playing a sold out show in Tuscon, what are you doing this evening?", the poster should've said, "Well, nothing special — sure, I'd love two free tix!"

Love Joe Bonamassa! I have worked with him a few times & he’s a true musicians musician. No nonsense- about the art he self promotes (which for those who may not be aware) means he assumes the risk & puts his own the skin into his game, venue rentals, marketing, hospitality & he takes what is left. He banks on himself & he absolutely owns the stage performance. From the business & production side & the fan side, the musicianship side – Joe is a dream of a professional guy to work with & see (BTW – who cares about the hairstyle… the front/ premium seats are full of the female fans who adore him like they do you Justin!) ✌🏽

Joe let this guy get to him. He should have just said something like…..yep, it sucks but whatever. I've gone prematurely bald a long time ago, and it's only one of the misgivings I have no control over and that's ok.

    ACTUALLY!

Actually the drug is a 5alpha reductase inhibitor that inhibits the reduction of Testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone in various tissues such as the scrotum, hair follicles and prostate.
It's not testosterone that causes hair loss but DHT

As someone who started losing hair at 14 due to male pattern baldness yet never had a single issue with the ladies all the way until I got married(even was called a man whore multiple times for sleeping around a bit too much) allow me to give anyone in a similar situation some advice.

Confidence in yourself & your appearance is EVERYTHING. I'd even say that it subconciously effects other ppl like a psychic barrier against noticing or caring about your balding. Accept it & embrace it.

What also helps is be physically fit. The ladies love a 6 pack & a muscular back😉. Also know how to please your lover. If baldness was a negative in her eyes before you gave her the experience of her lifetime it'll transform into a positive simply by association.

Take control. Goodluck out there gentlemen🤵‍♂️🥃

I have never heard windows peaks as a absent bit. I thought that was the hair that came to a point. Anyway I’m so glad I’m like 380 and still have all my hair.

Finasteride and Minoxodil are awful I would never use them and the whole rap about hair loss being caused by testosterone alone is also false. It may have something to do with it but in many cases scalp health is what causes baldness. The pores of the scalp getting plugged with sebum and keratin stopping the hair from being able to grow, and effectively pushing the hairline from the top/middle of the head to the sides. The best product I've found is Simfort. Its a natural carbonic acid shampoo from japan. Plant based. They should pay me to plug their product because I'd do it even better for a buck or two. That on top of some scalp treatments and the right supplementation and I bet plenty of guys could stop the hair loss without messing with their hormones or their blood flow and circulation. Down with big pharma. They aint never really lookin out for you.
