Looper | May 28, 2026

“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” hit Disney+ with a lot of fanfare, but some fans rejected the show before it even started, and things only got worse from there.

They really went hard with this one,on every level..& the whole"Girls Rule/Men Aren't Even Allowed to Drool" type message pushing became the entire plot of this show, hence the meta ending.Trying to scoop up a demographic that wanted no part of this, changing a classic character so it could spout your hatefull opinion,ect…She-Hulk was strong & sexy. They should of pitched Angry McBeal to something else..Disney was all ears to listen.

I think too many people have the misconceived notion that Deadpool is the 4th wall breaker, when She-Hulk did the same shtick decades before Wade was even a glimmer in Rob Liefeld's eye. And that's just on the Marvel side of comic properties.

The real reason I didn't care for She-Hulk was because they didn't use a real actress in Hulk form (they had someone 6-5 on set but unused, and crappy CGI was preferred instead!)

For a series based show, I prefer tight story telling over CGI. If both are possible on TV budget, sure, but usually that's not, and it shows here with crappy CGI, neither here nor there.

The was no growth for her. She just instantly knew how to control suddenly being she hulk and everything was easy cause “I am woman”. I don’t mind that she has better control her anger better as a lawyer, but I think it would have been better if she had to deal with the conflict of interest”am I winning because I’m a good lawyer or cause I’m she hulk” and have her get over confident in her control that she loose it by acident (maybe to some drunk a hat that says she only wins cause everyone’s afraid of she loose, she’ll flip out, only for her to hit her friend and hurting her badly). It would give an opening for her to grown, a reason for a second season and banner to tell her “not so easy. Is it?”

The show definitely had some writing mis-steps, but also……let's just say fan support for female lead projects that are not "perfect" , is fickle at best.

The show flopped because it undermined a strong, well‑established character by forcing in modern feminist tropes, reducing her to a shallow, one‑dimensional figure instead of the sharp, witty hero fans admired in the comics.

    A multitude of reasons:
    1. The MCU was in a bit of a creative rut then, and it consistently kept delivering unsatisfactory products.
    2. The general cynicism geared towards the audience.
    3. The piss poor CGI.
    4. It just wasn't all that good.
It should've been a home run, but it was a swing and a miss instead.

I really like the show, but the only thing that I didn't like is that she was a ho. I heard that she was a ho in the comics, but still…I think it should have been a family show. You already know that half of the audiences are racist nazis….why dividie it up even more by not making it kid friendly? Just don't make her a ho!

Just figured I’d drop this here…

“Winderbaum also pushed back on the narrative that the show underperformed. He revealed that She-Hulk was actually one of Marvel’s strongest performers. “That’s one of our best performing shows,” he told the hosts. The show connected strongly with general audiences despite backlash from hardcore MCU fans online.”

Or, and I know this is crazy talk but…it could have just been bad. Seriously, you are bending over backwards for this show. It was terrible. Oh, not Wheel of Time levels of bad, to be sure, but it was pretty bad. I don't think you guys are being intellectually honest in your 'review' of this telling us why it was a flop while trying to basically say that it was the fans who were the problem, and really, it wasn't as terrible as we remember, plus, it really did so much better in the ratings than we ever knew, and Marvel was just stupid for killing it with those sorts of numbers. I thought better of you guys.

I truly enjoyed the show, except for that bullshit ending with K.E.V.I.N. It was just like they said, everyone had moved on to another show. Too bad they took the cheap, fast, lazy, easy way out, then maybe it wouldn't have gotten all this hate. Oh, and Banner's fully grown Hulk-kid.
