Indigenous Art Fellows Dig Deep
Two Native artists, Avis Charley and Brian Johnson, are spending the semester diving into the archives, as part of their Mellon Research Fellowship at the Institute of American Indian Arts. Blending fine art and graphic design, the pair exchange skills, ideas, and inspiration while immersing themselves in the archives, community, and landscape of Santa Fe. Their fellowship highlights creative experimentation, relationship-building, and the power of shared artistic perspectives.
