Remember When | April 19, 2026

#RememberWhen the best underrated Sci-Fi shows were canceled WAY too soon by networks, especially FOX! These were cult classics like Sliders, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Caprica, Revolution, and Sense8.

From interdimensional misadventures with Jerry O’Connell to the Wachowskis’ globe-spanning psychic drama, these series had bold ideas, passionate fans, and network support that lasted about as long as a T-800’s battery life. We’re still salty, and we know you are too!

5:53 It didn't completely ignore the plot of Terminator 3. While it did take place in a different timeline than T3, several things in the show implied that had Cameron and Cromartie not intervened at that point, T3 was the future that was coming. The most prominent of these several things being that Cameron confirms that Sarah would be dead from cancer by the time the show aired if they hadn't jumped over the eight years they had (which was T3's explanation for why Sarah Connor wasn't around…though I'm reading they changed the date).

Okay. I loved Sliders, but that show definitely outlived its shelf life.
By the time the show ended there was only one of the original characters left and they had long dropped most of the plot lines that were set up to "rescue" the characters whose actors had left without giving closure.
The remaining character wasn't even one of the characters who knew how the technology worked. It was literally the guy who was driving by the house when the original experiment went wrong.

Sense8 and Farscape where two of my🎉 favorite shows 🎉that where two of 6 my top ten shows that were rcanceled that made my blood boil. Though I loved all 6 shows those two really hurt. Shame on the networks for not listening to the people who watch the shows

Farscape – best scifi of all time (with the possible exception of Firefly only because Farscape at least got 4 complete seasons). It’s a crime against humanity that both shows were cancelled, especially Firefly because it was so intentionally screwed with from the start by Fox. Peacekeeper Wars sort of made up for Farscape’s cancellation but the writing just didn’t live up to the magic of the show and wasn’t a satisfying ending for me. Also Dargo’s death was unnecessary and another crime against humanity.

I liked the 2007 Bionic Woman reboot with Michelle Ryan. It had heaps of potential and that 00's slick gothic aesthetic, but boomers hated it because it wasn't like the earlier show with Lindsay Wagner and a bionic dog.

The Terminator one def hits hard with the way it ended. The idea of seeing a younger John in the future war was pretty cool. Also the fact he'd be interacting with people he knew but had no idea who he was.

I think dropping the Sarah Conor Chronicles is the worst mistake the TV overlords made. I love the Terminator movies t1 and t2 which are among the very bestest movies of all time, and this fit in really well.

I would have added FlashForward instead of Revolution. It was an excellent show that accidentally left an opening for a reboot. I don't think they knew the show was being canceled, but the last flash forward was to 2015. The main character's kids were old enough that it could have become a "King of the Hill" sort of reboot. Revolution lost my interest when they started focusing more on the social interactions of the characters than why the lights went out. I only got through the first few episodes.

I agree on "Farscape". "Sliders" had the problem of losing almost its entire original cast over the years, and I can't blame the network for cancelling it, but it should have had at least a proper ending (ideally before Jerry O'Connell left). I couldn't care less about any of the others.

Also, the Sarah Chronicles, was a victim of Reality TV. It was just starting to take off and it was much cheaper to produce Reality TV than to pay actors. A lot of good tv was dropped because of it.

Terminator: Ssarah Connor Chronicles, with all the strength of a thousand nuclear warheads, this cancelation hits the hardest. Just as we were getting to something fresh & original just to pull the rug out on us. SCC was 100x better than these movies we've been subjected too since this series ended

Sliders i liked at the start, after s2 i stopped watching mostly, i saw an ep or 2 once in a while and give it a shrug.
The Sarah Conner cronicles was messy, but great. Still is a shame it got cancled
Revolution felt like a doomed series from the first episode. It got better and the worse quickly.
Caprica was a suprise to me, it came to late – if it had started during the main series high point it could have gained traction. Good idea's mediocre execution.
Sense8 hmm yeah it was good, pacing was a bit off and it did not feel like it had much direction at times. Like it was putting stuff on screen as a statement rather then a story.
Farscape is and remains my favorite sci fi of all time. Closely followed by stargate but the originality it showed at times was worth so much. The show got better and better as it went and it had potential for some truely good spin offs and sequal options.. alas it got cancled without good reason.. The movie/mini series was great but i would rather have seen several more seasons.

the one show that still annoys me that it was cancelled (on a cliffhanger too) was Tru Calling. I adored that show. I never see anyone talking about it unfortunately. season one followed the standard story of the week formula at first which was great for setting up Tru and the power she had and how she dealt with it however as the season went on we see her struggles as the power she has starts to hit her closer to home. by the end of season 1 i was in tears due to how the season ended (tears in a good way as the storyline broke my heart). season 2 however is where the story really took off (as far as i'm aware they never aired season 2 or they only aired some of the episodes due to pulling the plug early, I watched on DVD) season 2 begins with Tru realizing that there is someone else like her, with her power but they are actively working against her. This story thread goes through the entire season and honestly the villains ark is brilliant television in my opinion as he wasn't a cookie cutter villain, he questioned if what he was doing was right occasionally. as you can tell I really love this show lol and I would love to see a book or comic that would end the show properly and sort the cliffhanger which had me on the edge of my seat then in tears(the bad kind this time as there was no more show). that show needs a proper conclusion, it deserves it.

So I'm gonna give you 2 shows, but first, i wanna comment on Sliders.
The first 2 seasons of the show are great. And it was revolutionary. In 1995, unless you read comics, nobody had any idea what multiple dimensions were. Or at least i didn't. It was a character driven show. Unfortunately for them, they were hurt by the success of the X-Files.
X-Files, which was way more sci-fi, premiered a year and a half sooner and became a surprise hit for the network. They saw Sliders and thought it could be the next X-Files.
Obviously, their meddling hurt the show creatively. And I thought when the show became more sci-fi that it actually got worse. Gone were the great moments between Quinn & Arturo, Quinn & Wade, etc. I never saw the seasons on SyFy.
Ok so 2 shows that were cancelled too soon for me:
    1) Jake 2.0. Dude i to this day love this show. It's literally Spider-Man but without web slinging. I loved the relationship between Jake & Diane. The show ended on a cliffhanger of Jake unaliving someone. C'mon!
    2) Seven Days. The show did last 3 seasons but i thought it was just a fun show. It didn't take itself too seriously. It just wanted to be a fun time travel show.

To this day Farscape remains my absolute favoritest show of any genre EVER. I still binge watch the entire series once a year… every episode in order. And it never gets old. 😻

Revolution was a great concept with the Nanobots shutting down the electric.
And Im still salty about Firefly being cancelled for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I loved that Ben & Claudia got to do their thing again in Stargate, they had brilliant chemisty together in both shows…..She was just crazy enough to make the sex interesting, god I love that Woman, she's such a great actress.
