   I'm using it on my book's title as the book has pyramids, etc. in it, so it is appropriate to get the feel of the story. Annnnd, people want something that looks different from the majority of fonts.

   Papyrus was something we learned about in sixth grade history. I guess they must have stopped since then, or maybe the was just my teacher who thought we should know about it. Also, it was mentioned in library books quite frequently.

    The problem I have with Papyrus as a font is that it's too slender. I prefer big and bold fonts for stuff like titles since they're easier for most people to read.

    Graphic design student here in 2025 Gabi brings ups a good point about the overuse of certain types faces it’s a serious topic and talking point we’ve had entire lectures on in upper level classes. Personally I find the Jagged edges jarring and would never be caught dead using this face unless held at gun point but that’s a personal style choice as I like soft round design. Ironically when looking at how it was treated for the Avatar movie poster I think it works really well for the large one word titles and restaurant names as opposed to something like even Gabi’s short phrasing. Also not to be that guy but keening and tracking are usually manually adjusted via the designer using the face since usually the default set by the designer is not multipurpose. Blah blah designer stuff aside thanks for the food for thought gonna mention this video next week to my type professor (I’m sure he’s gonna dunk on papyrus lol). Also stroke weight can vary we see it in a lot of old style type faces optical balance and overall cohesion is more accurate as a term either way I would still give it a pass for that ☝️🤓 all my umm actually aside again great video

    Linus Bowman's video on papyrus gets more into the details of its history, which explains why it looks weird. the main thing is that there were two versions of the uppercase letters. when they were building Microsoft Office, Microsoft picked the supersized capital letters instead of just the large ones (which is what Apple chose because they aren't idiots). the supersized letters were NEVER designed to go with lowercase letters at all, which explains why the upper and lowercase letters look all misaligned a lot of the time!
