I think people need to get over the idea that social needs being fufilled for financial compensation is inherently wrong. Like humans are social creatures its a part of well being, and for some people they may want to live a lifestyle that doesnt leave enough time and mental energy to a traditional relationship, so why would be so bad for them to supplement their contribution financially? I think its lowkey respectful, its showing they value the other persons time and effort.

The problem with channels like jubilee is they're primary focus is entertainment not education, alot of their content gets edited for ragebait and its intentional

romantic relationship ships of the sugar variety are a big part of queer history as well. it used to be (and maybe still is? idk) very common for young gay men to date older men who would provide their housing, maybe fund their education or help them get into the world of business, or even just be a regular relationship outside of the large wage gap. the young men could have dated within their age, but they chose to provide companionship to someone who was otherwise lacking it, knowing that they would recieve financial support in return. that doesn't mean they didn't love their older partners. i think people get the ick when trading time/resources within a relationship involves money changing hands, because it seems exploitative or like sex work, but i think that is an emotional reaction due to stigma, that people should move past and acess the true situation.

I know I'm two or so years late to this but I really appreciate this video & her trying to enlighten people. I have a lot of personal issues asking people for things including for help even when I'm in dire need. I am slowly learning how important boundaries are in regards to that & just anything in life. So it's really nice & refreshing to hear that some people can set these healthy boundaries & make money in a way that can truly help both parties involved. Tho I also understand that it isn't all sunshine & rainbows & as for everything has some serious risks to consider. I wouldn't do it personally because of my own issues but I do have a new founded respect for those who do.

    Alright not gonna lie.
That ending hit me like a train.
I literally help people that never talk to me. Never ask me how I'm doing. Never can help me out. But yet whenever they ask for help I always say yes? Instantly? Even offer? Cause I have nothing to do? I have no one to hang out with. I have no one to share my day with. It's just so brutally lonely. I just drove for 10 hours cause my coworkers car took a shit. Just to have any form of a friendship. I've driven up to Seattle 3 hours away to move my "best friends" cousins hole freaking house in a box truck in a night then drove back at like 4 am. I drive hours and hours for people who wouldn't even help me when I was injured from work. I go do physical labor for people just to hang out with someone. I work on people's cars to hang out with them. What's the difference between that and paying someone? Holy fuck dude I'm sad

i think a better way to look at those relationships is to realize that sugar babes are maybe to be looked at the same way that entertainers are, they provide a service and get paid for it, and if you are realy honest what else are you doing for you construction firm boss or whatever you are doing for a living

i had a sugar daddy in high school and a little bit after high school, he is a youtuber and like ten years older than me. i wasnt allowed to have a job in high school and bro just offered me money in exchange for "sugars" he was MILES away from me like a thousand mile away from me. I cut things off with him because i met someone and he told me i could come back whenever i wanted to.

I really liked the video until you said “men are disgusting.” Some men, yeah. A lot of men, maybe. But to say men, as a general term to refer to most or all men, is a gross generalization and is a really upsetting thing to hear.
