I Was A Bit Of A Mess.

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | February 22, 2026

It’s my favourite day of the week again…COMMENTS DAY! Today there are some great questions, one in particular reminding me of a period back then when things were a bit…messy. A lot of songwriting based questions too. Thank you all for writing to me, I really enjoy reading your comments and questions.

OMG 😲 All this time I could've used it…but I didn't know! 😖 Back in 1985, the band "Snatch" released their EP "If the Party's in your Mouth…We're Comin'" and I've been avoiding using that title ever since for fear of being sued! 🤦‍♂ Ignorance is NOT bliss, don't listen to the lies! 😒 🤣 Cheers!🍻

When you said that album titles don’t matter, I immediately thought of Peter Gabriel not giving names to his first four solo albums. But as I grew up with album oriented rock in the 1970s, the whole idea of not having album titles seems really weird. Like “which Queen album do you like better, their first 1974 album or their second 1974 album?” Those kinds of conversations don’t seem like they’d be very much fun 😂

10:21 Nothing can or will replace the energy of the band, with the crowd cheering next to you. Watching them respond to the music as you respond gives a collective joy that I don't think could ever be duplicated in VR. To be honest, I wouldn't want it to. We don't need more reasons to stay plugged into the digital world, it's bad enough already. Everything is easier, and we've never been more unhappy collectively. That speaks volumes.

This tells me now how i can love watching these shows, and honestly i didn't hear any of the music until recently. You don't have the ego that most singers/lead have – and i say that as a compliment.
