This is a new format I’ve testing out for Year-End List Season! I’ve been thinking of a way to cover more albums than what I normally do in the annual Top 10 Albums vid. Not just to speak on records I’d wouldn’t get to speak on otherwise, but to get more of your takes on more records.

Just to be clear – and I say this in the video too – this does not replace the Top 10 Albums video. Barring any unexpected life events, that’ll be out before Xmas.

Also I’m working on captions for this video and will have those up in the near future. Enjoy!

Birthing by SWANS absolutely changed my life, it made me realize I could face my problems and come out the other side a better person. Also I'm in my SWANS era, collecting all their big sound albums. I just love losing myself in the flood for 2 hours, it definitely makes me think about interesting things

You know ball with the osamason psykotic ranking , you should give Che's Rest in Bass and Encore a listen as well, and if you want a more melodic sound from him than listen to Sayso Says

You probably should have Mei Semones there. And did I see Dijon? AOTY territory for me – absolutely. Personally I’d love to see Jenny Hval and Lucretia Daly there, too, but they were probably not “big” enough to be featured.

Alabaster DePlume was my AOTY, but you didn’t really feature any jazz here.

Somehow I understand you not getting DJ Kobe’s latest, as I was fairly underwhelmed at first listen, but it is such a grower. Really glad I kept listening to it for the “nice vibes”.

So interesting watching Todd's end of the year list(s) and this video because it really hammers it home that I have no idea what is being released and have 0 clue where the hell y'all are finding this music.

People in the comments saying Marina's – Princess of Power but no mention of Princess Nokia's – Girls?? I mean I don't think either were of the calibre to make this particular list BUT I did thoroughly enjoy Girls which was head and shoulders above PoP.

maybe I'm misremembering, but didn't Ethel say at some point that Perverts wasn't intended as a "fuck you" to the weirdly intense parts of the fandom, she just really wanted to make an ambient album? not that I think that effects the rating, just unsure if I hallucinated that or not.

If you liked PPC's Pogo Rodeo, you should definitely check out their previous album Carpe Diem, Moonman, which released this year too and it's one of my AOTY. Not that I didn't love Pogo Rodeo though, just liked the other a tad more. Recommend you at least hear March on for Pax Romana, which also happens to be my favorite rock song of the year.

Insane that the first Hard Rock Album that reached the Billboard Number 1 on its release (Ghost’s Skeleta) didn’t make the list. But not unsurprising considering the state of metal and rock.
