MIC THE SNARE: COLDPLAY DEFENDER will soon be in theaters near you. Starring Dolph Lundgren, the Annoying Orange, and in the role of a lifetime, Gary Oldman as Crazy Frog.

Captions should be up in the next few days. Thanks for watching 🙂

Obviously this video is 10 months old at this point, but I’d be interested to hear your thoughts about Moon Music now that it’s out.

I think I agree with a lot of your opinions and I personally think it’s much better than MOTS

I'm really bummed that you missed the point of Hymn for the Weekend. The first verse says "life is a drink and love's a drug," and then the rest of the song talks about being drunk and high. They're drunk on life and high on love.

As far as Music of the Spheres, I figure it's actually an incredibly logical progression from where they were in Everyday Life. Everyday Life was their musical journey around the world and what they learned on that trip. Music of the Spheres pushes the message of connection and love that they saw as clearly needed in the world that they traveled.

Hmm, I'm wondering what other band originally started as alternative rock; with the more colorful the album cover, the poppier the sound; whose also been lambasted as one of the most insufferable bands of the 21st century; and whose main export has been the live shows and tours; and announced a break from touring in 2020; and released a double album within the past 5 years; and–

I took a girlfriend to see Coldplay on their X&Y tour, and after the show, as everyone was trying to exit the parking lot (which took about 45 minutes) these girls in the car behind us BLASTED "Fix You" at top volume, screaming along to every line, over and over again on a loop. I must've heard that song 15 times before we got onto the road. I HAAAAAAAAATE "Fix You."

X&Y was a surprise purchase by me as a kid at a Rite-Aid (yes, they actually sold music CDs at some point). I just felt like getting it because the cover was cool and mysterious. Let's just say that Coldplay introduced me to the joy of listening to an album front and back. I would then buy Dark Side of the Moon and that's how my music tastes finally began to develop outside of the radio stations you'd hear on Vice City.

You know what I’m just going to say this as a Musician and Musical Theory Professor.

Coldplay is my favorite band. It’s not even close. I love the Beatles,The Velvet Underground,OutKast,Wu Tang, Tribe Called Quest, Frank Sinatra,Nirvana, Korn,John Hopper, Queen, Super Tramp,ELO, That’s not even going into Classical,Spanish Guitar, Skinshape….its not even scratching the surface.

    Coldplay spans Decades and millennia.

Coldplay is the best for one reason and one reason only. General Relativity 😊

Their music is general. Meaning it reaches the general public.

We all know ART is abstract.

In the Abstract we find meaning.

Coldplays ability to not only command commercial success in our objective reality due to their General popularity is incredibly immense.

When you appeal generally to a Global audience. They are then allowed to listen to your ART in the abstract and draw meaning for themselves.

The only other artists that could do this are long gone and do not have the longevity.

They are not a generational talent. They are a multicultural and multigenerational talent.

Nothing like them has ever existed as far as we know.

The closest you get is The Beatles, Elvis, Madonna and Michael Jackson.

However….theyve been around much much longer. Their message is transcendental and they actually make incredibly good music.

In fact the songs of theirs I don’t like which for some reason everyone else likes would be successful from the 70’s on up.

Simplicity is the key. Most people don’t want to just hear good music. They want to hear good music they can relate to their own lives.

Generalists. This is why they are the best.

They appeal to everyone even if you don’t like something they produce…somebody somewhere else does.

So in summation being generalist in an art form requires you to understand that things will be interpreted in the abstract. The more souls you can reach the more can pull from the abstract therefore completing the cycle.

Coldplay isn’t for you you selfish fucks!!!

    Coldplay is for everyone!!
