But, Is Harry Style’s Music Actually Any Good?!
He’s back at it again. Harry Styles has just released a new music video for “Music for a Sushi Restaurant”. I was not expecting this. On the other hand, let’s see if this song can evoke anything in me.

I personally think the thing that will make or break musicians more than anything is not having a good stage performance. Styles may not have the best music but by being a great entertainer I'm sure he'll be around for a long time.

People heavily criticise this new generation of solo artists (some rightly so of course)……but in generations past they would have been in bands, and been considered great frontmen.
Jagger, Plant, Axel Rose, Tyler, Ozzy, Strummer, Rotten, Liam Gallagher, Morrissey etc. were all in bands, and all had main writing partners within the band (Richards, Page, Izzy Stradlin & Slash, Mick Jones, Noel G. , Johnny Marr, Perry etc.), plus contributions from the band themselves.
Generally the writing process would be that the frontman wrote the majority of the lyrics, and their co-songwriter would be the genius behind the music and melody.
Harry Styles is a great performer, has that swagger and confidence that helps make a great frontman, and contributes to the writing process..
There was alot more artistic freedom given to bands and singers back then, whereas styles is more controlled artistically (on the music front), and doesn’t have that band environment that allows for artistic and musical growth.
I think Harry would have thrived in that old-school band set-up, and would have been considered a great frontman and a would have had the freedom and creative environs to develop into a better songwriter too.
He deserves more credit as a performer, and the recognition that – in a different era, he might have been part of a great band, and himself considered one of the great frontmen.

The amount of people on this thread, a music channel remember, who actually think Styles has anything to do with the actual writing of the lyrics or the music is quite disturbing. He is just another talentless manufactured puppet!

There's a new genra of music today which I call, YouTube
And a good deal of it is slop, garbage.
But if you look around enough, you can find some real gems and talent.
You just have to take the time to sort it out, and not be sucked into the trap of going by what's currently popular/trendy, because that's where all the real slop is found
