Psychology and neuroscience both tell us that morality developed out of an evolutionary need. People that distinguish good from bad and do so predictably are much better at banding together and making social companions than those who are not. Are humans inherently evil?

We all have a moral conscience, because we were created by God. His commands are written on our hearts so even if you don’t believe in him, you still know certain things are wrong. Some people know yet still go against the feeling to feed their flesh. (Romans 2:15) there is no way such a complex body just came from nothing or evolved from another organism it makes no sense for a monkey to turn into a human.

Yes, you are born inherently "bad". I am a Christian and watching this shown some interesting thoughts. I do not agree with everything stated, or maybe nothing at all from what I remember. I encourage you if you would want to understand more about morality, learn about human nature, and what it means to be human and more, read the Holy Bible, more specifically Genesis, and much of the New Testament, but hopefully all of it. I have yet to learn still and read of in the Bible.. but for anyone who needs an answer, for anyone who needs to find TRUTH, BEAUTY, and GOODNESS, you will find with God. I would also encourage to read or look into, C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity".

Anyone who has had to take care of little kids is aware that children are fully capable of being incredibly cruel and need to be taught good behavior through discipline in order to rear them into respectable adults. We're predisposed to help people we think of as "our tribe/community " such as friends,family,religious group, ethnic group,etc as it ensures safety in numbers and establishes an expectation of reciprocal aid in our own time of need.

You have to prove something like that first before you can say that!
Evolution and origin of life!

Even if they don't know everything yet! they try to explain! and prove things! which isn't easy! is better than nothing!

Step by step! small changes over time!

And that counts for evolution too! they don't claim that something came out of nothing!
The bible does that without explanation! without evidence!

everything that is made! is fake!

Otherwise we wouldn't have had to make it! and think about it!

I don’t like to label people as good or bad, but maybe…conniving? If the person knows their past, their traumas, their wounds and how they shaped their personality and their bad behavior, they should seek help and CHANGES, but ifthey knows all this and does nothing, they are conniving, not exactly bad, but conniving. It has whole question that genetics, culture, hormones, mental diseases, physiological and biological conditions, all this affects the behavior of people.
For example, I think that…people who have had some bad impact on me…the things they have done…have they done bad things or are they bad? but if they are bad, are they bad because they chose or because something bad happened? but if they chose to be bad, because they chose that, what made them choose to be that way? If something bad happened to them, they shouldn’t throw their suffering at me, right? That’s not fair! but it is also not fair that they suffered bad situations, in this case, they are not 100% to blame, after all, they did not choose what they would go through, not even their genetics, family, social class, race…all this was pure luck!

yes, it may happen… nature has no concept of bad or good and the genes that can determinate aggressivity, emphaty etc… may be all not favorable for the human. Nothing will stop nature by letting a child born with “evil” genes (genes that influence in a negative way the child in his living conditions)

Humans are born good. We are easy to screw up, however. When babies and toddlers see fair play, they are happy. If a lion stuffed animal helps a dog stuffed animal, they are happy. If a panda stuffed animal takes everything, the toddlers don't like it.

The Stanford experiment was the ultimate test to see what humans really are… and I was a success. The truest of a human is evil and no one is born good or with any moral compass. Humans are the true rats of this world.

` Evil ` is simply Lack of Love – we all have it to some extent !
We are born Loving – no concept of self / selfishness
– love for All, not just self/family/tribe/country
The reason the world is such a mess is that we are taught & teach our kids ` Evil ` !

I strongly believe that, if humans were to be left alone with no regulations and propaganda placed upon us, we would go back to tribalism. You can see that in untouched African territories. People, even after thousands of years of human evolution, are still living amongst themselves, hunting and gathering.
War (Protective as well as offensive) is, if left untouched, ingrained deeply into human nature. Same as tribalism.
Nature knows no racism, it just is.
Humans started giving natural behaviour names to be able to grasp and fight something that opposes the idea of the allmighty economy. The more people live together, the more money can be made. It's all for money. Globalism, antiracism, transhumanism and multiculturalism. All of it. All human made constructs.
The idea of living life in peace and harmony is a human made idea as well and not something that is inherent to nature itself.

out of billions of species on earth, only humans conceive the concept of evil and good and alter their evolutionary line with such concepts.
we are forever doomed by the inception of the word ‘evil’
edit: extra: see how we turned out given the anonymity we can get on the internet (trolls, child predators, cancel culture) shows the very true nature in us? we should be glad it’s not 100%; some people do get restricted by their own morality so they can prevent themselves doing such things, even given anonymity. this makes me wonder, what if such morality lifted off? this made the honne/tatemae concept more horrifying than i previously thought

It's not the reticency of order takers that's pertinent. It's that evil orders are endemic to the human condition and routinely put to people. The more pertinent point (where our focus should be directed to) is it's the order takers that allow/acquiesce to vesting power in psychopathic/sociopathic personalities. That's a clear deficiency. A kind of evil if one is inclined to play fast and loose with definitions.

I don't know any human that's not. Humans are just better at lying to themselves and excusing and rationalizing away their evil deeds.
You ask any human if they'd kill mice for being pests. All will say yes. So if I did that to the pest humans in my life people would call me a monster. How is it any different 😂 ?
It's not. Your just rationalizing your evil away by using society's standards.
That's the same reasoning that brought on ww2. A person can feel fine doing any amount of evil if it's socially acceptable or even encouraged.

1) People love to punish each other by racism, gender discrimination, body shaming, etc.

I think that if we were "inherently" bad or did more bad things than good then I don't thing we would survive as a species. If were "inherently" bad then we wouldn't even have morality or ethics. The question is how evil are you?.And is your mothers "evil"? Do you and your mothers DO more bad things or good things.. Humans are BOTH competitive AND cooperative. IF we were " inherently " evil-bad" THEN why would we bother to make up reasons to justify the actions we are told are "bad"? I think we are the only species that does try to justify our actions. Or create such a complex moral code!😇😎😉
