ADD GAMES to Your Intellivision Sprint Carousel! | COMPLETE How-To Guide
Get Your Sprint » Intellivision Sprint » https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FX5Z3N23?tag=genxgrownup-20
So, you’ve got your shiny new Intellivision Sprint and have tried adding games by just throwing a bunch of INT files on a USB stick, you very likely ran into a hiccup or two. Most files will just work, but some may not, and I know it can be frustrating – it was for me.
Thanks to info and resources I’ve scoured up from around the net by people way smarter about Intellivision than me, I’m slowly building up my own USB stick full of new and favorite games not already built in.
In this video, I walk you through adding one perfectly-formatted and perfectly-functioning game, so you can repeat it as many times as you like with your favorites.

🚨 UPDATE 🚨
• Pre-made media? Sure! Discord member Mert has assembled images & metadata for >80 Intellivison games available on our Discord server: https://discord.com/channels/479620358383599637/1447007233954287838
( Invite to server is in every video description. )
• The screenshot images listed at 5:03 should have the "png" extension, NOT "json" as the graphic erroneously suggests.
• My USB stick was formatted FAT32 by default and I didn't have to reformat.
• The awesome guy from Intellivision Gamer is named Casey – my bad.

I ran into an issue – followed the Atlantis tutorial step-by-step, but when I load it, all the games in my carousel are Atlantis! Everything's fine when I remove the thumbstick, but I'm wondering if there's a trick to avoid this?

Ah yes, the old "Google is your friend" answer. YT slapped down many videos a few years ago that told too much and even threaten those channels. Also, Nintendo killed a few sites.

Any idea how to remove the "running man" graphic from the usb stick?

Just losded the whole collection and still need a few cfg files and the png ones. Also text instruction files. This is what i really wanted. Not the Amico thst stole my $100 and i am stuck with 8 useless physical media. Love this for sure!

Here’s hoping home brew games design their own overlays you can get printed

Great guide. I have a problem: after preparing all the roms and all the configuration files (including images), the menu only shows up to the games under the letter D 🙁 How can I fix it?

So question, would putting each game in separate folders with the meta data work in the USB carousel? For example, can I drag a folder Atlantis with all the meta onto my thumb and drag another folder Burgertime with it's meta? Will it show up? Or do I hafta have a sloppy USB thumb with no clean organization?

Thanks for both videos on the Sprint. I really appreciate it.

As someone who grew up loving my Intellivision, I was so disappointed when I didn't see Cloudy Mountain on it, that I chose not to jump on the bandwagon. Now that I've seen your previous review video and this one for editing everything, I've ordered my Intellivision Sprint and it's going to look great next to my Atari 2600+ and Atari VCS.
One quick question. I'm big on file structure and organization. Will the files work inside their own folders, or does everything only work from the root? Not sure if this was tested by anyone, but figured it would be easier to ask than it would be to search through everywhere.

Just wish I could use the carts. This is all well and good but seems very time consuming. I have all my old carts and just wanna use them (mainly bump n jump, one of my all time favs)

This tutorial was PERFECT! Thank you for the link to the Database, and the template files. I (vibe coded) coded up python to match overlays to the controller template, got all the configs matched to the games – used jzintv for screenshots, found LOTS of original art for the controllers and boxes – and essentially replaced the limited catalogue in Carousel with a full Catalogue and my homebrews.
So, once again THANK you for this! I have had the most fun building out an entire INTV set for sprint all weekend and this was SUCH a fulfiulling project.
I LOVE this console so far!
Note about a carousel bug:
There is a character limitation count on how LONG filenames are – IE BASENAME + extension (cfg, _big_overlay.png, int, etc)
75 chars or more will break an assets, game wont load the config, art wont load, general bad time.
63 characters though was the magic long limit of characters by my testing.
I can't wait to see what updated happen next!

You could have directed people to the official Intellivision Lives! and Intellivision Rocks CD-ROMs for an official and legal way to get the ROM files. Just gotta rename the extension from itv to int; they even ship with the cfg files.

Can I ask which Text Editor are you using? Or recommend, Notepad obviously doesn’t work.

December 30, 2025 at 7:47 am
Paintshop pro question… You said (something like) "Paste the overlay behind the controller"… I can't for the life of me figure out how to paste it behind the controller. It only lays it top. I also can't get Corel to have multiple images on one screen like you have. Any advice? Great video!

Do the original 125 games show up with artwork and use the keypad ?

Don't forget, it seems that the PAUSE function works on the Sprint. Press 1 + 9 at the same time to get the black pause screen

Great video for the ten people who received their Sprint. The rest of us are either canceling or getting theirs months from now.
This might be the worst console launch ever.

Can you please do a video on how to ACTUALLY update the system. I've tried small GB USBs larger GB USBs and formatted them to fat32 then to exFAT and I can't get the system to update. I copied the zip file and renamed it to update.zip and I just cannot get it to update. However, I have been 100% successful in adding ROMs

No fan of fiddling round with roms. Since the basic selection of games coming along with the console is crap, Atari should offer other compilations on usb sticks and ready to play.
