Are "quantum events" only events where you die (and don't die).? If not, then there are conscious beings that are not YOU but are living a copy of your life. One say where you didn't go to college, didn't get married and have kids, became a professional musician instead of a software engineer…

Thanks for a wild ride through some theoretical physics. I’m not sure what to believe. I’m interested in the argument from design, which is a minority position in the physics community but is being seriously developed lately by some very sharp minds. If the "me" is immortal, and my best friend is also immortal, then from his perspective if I died, then which me experienced the death? It couldn't be "me" because I'm still alive. Was that version of me that died just an NPC all long from my friends perspective?

Is there a way to prepare ourselves for what happens to our consciousness after our physical body dies? Do our memories lie in our brain or are they carried on after death? Is our brain just a link to our "I" that exists for eternity? Trying to understand what happens to us after death and if there's something we can do while alive for what happens after we die. From this video, when you die, that's the end of that you but there will always exist a version of you that's alive in the many worlds.

Why have rain if no one is able to observe it? Why have grass green if it can't be seen? Reality as we know it seems to be built around the observer. I believe consciousness is some form of energy that needs a vessel to develop. But then why is there death? The energy of consciousness needs to go somewhere once the physical observer is no longer able to support said energy…question is..where does that energy actually go?

That’s terrifying… if we as our consciousness, never die. That means we leave all our friends and family behind. We must suffer alone forever, all of us. That’s horrifying.
I wonder if branches, branch back into one another, or if they continue to branch out endlessly without any interaction, once a new branch is established.
What about sharing a new branch with someone. You’re both meant to die in one branch but you both survive and create a new branch. Are we now both on the same new branch? Where does it end?

Maybe this approach is an answer to the fine-tuning of the universe we experience. Versions of other constants, where matter cannot exist, are dead end branches.

The problem with this is that mathematical models never to the observations of reality. That's the biggest problem with the standard model of cosmology. The math never equates to physical observation, and it fails predictability every time. Halton Arp said it best. They are looking through the wrong end of the telescope and telling us what they imagine they see.

An observer: To me is it much more minutely determine, with all due respect for every substantive thing a wave type propagation can interact with. The reason you get an interference pattern from even one slit or crystals is that the electrons interact with the atoms of the material more in certain areas than in that an area less crowded with other electrons and their atomic nuclei. That interaction can deflect part of the wave speed of propagation for a bit and determine where it finds the energy refocused enough to stimulate a capturing by the atoms on a detection system. The energy in the quantum ‘vacuum’ helps to lets everything restabilize to the new situation.
No doubt Quantum Entanglement happens, yet it only can be as stable as its environment allows it to be. Perhaps this helps to explain why putting a fiber optic cable between two entangled item’s environs can help them stay that way. There is a time delay in the cable’s effect, and a limited number of means for the environ’s energy to express a balancing effect. Yet entanglement of photons is noted to be relatively stable in a clear path of propagation. Thus the environs themselves way be relative near a state of entanglement on the whole compared to a lack of such input. The ‘quantum vacuum’ is basically a black slate as to its actual state, from what I understand what we can say about that factor.

It is not logical to hold the monolinear view that you die or not and a single branch of consciousness continues each time you reach that nexus. The reason is that every event that led up to putting you into that position had multiple possible outcomes and many eventualities that could lead to your death, or not. Some of those eventualities could also lead to your being paralyzed, falling in love, becoming an Olympic athlete or getting life in prison. So logically all that causality would result in potentially infinite streams or branches that require a conscious "you". Perhaps the question or "thought experiment" to be explored is, does this inevitably multi-branched meta-universe require a discrete consciousness for each permutation, or is consciousness branched, or shared by some mechanism at the quantum level? Are we, and perhaps all consciousness, multi-dimensional entities by nature?
