This court is a joke. The 14th amendment should have been 9-0. The fact that the president can fire all agency heads except this one is entirely contradictory.

The state has a compelling interest in maintaining the integrity of the category of woman as based in biological sex. Men and women have a right to be compared only agianst other men and women in sports and man and woman are biological categories not social categories that you join by identifying as them. This decision basically said that any time a sex segregated space is legal inder civil rights law its based on man and woman as physical biological categories because its only ever legal when the bodily difference are relevant this case was a huge rebuke of self id ideology

If it this tiring and scary to listen about what is happening in the US from outside the country, I really feel for the citizens who have to live in this nightmare.

Am I the only one that gets pissed off when I hear about congress and the Supreme Court or any part of the government going on recess. It feels like they all make a bunch of money and do nothing.

I am SO tired of conservatives basically saying they think all women are boneless gummy worms under the guise of wanting to 'protect' girls who play sports.

I will say, be careful using the term "beyond the pale", it has roots in British colonialism in Ireland.

I wanted to throw hands when I kept seeing vids with variations on the theme of 'republicans are FREAKING OUT over ___ SC decision!!', they won FAR MORE than they lost: most importantly they won the ones that would further polarize the country (trans hate) to further calcify their base, and lost the ones that would 100% have cost the right votes in the midterms, namely birth right citizenship. Even the narrow split stuff was probably deliberate to placate the crazies who want to go too far, this suggests 'just vote us in a one more time and we'll have enough SC judges to cheat anything you, our base, want', it pointedly doesn't remove hope among racists that they'll get their way sooner or later, this was all a play for votes in the midterms that are terrifying the right, they can't afford to lose this and they're tracking for one of the all time loses, having shrunk AND demoralized their base with almost 2 full years mixing incompetence with malicious intent.

Look, there is a difference between adult males and females with testosterone giving males certain physical advantages. If you have been having puberty blockers (like the woman mentioned) you are not going to have that testosterone advantage though. Probably the best way to handle this is how the international athletics organisations are handling these issues (as there have been a number of people participating who were born with both sexes and have had a testosterone advantage): they require that the participants have a testosterone level that is lower than the set amount. This helps not only with moderating the ‘testosterone advantage’ as well as with testosterone blasting and other drugs that will give physical advantages….
Whether this should be implemented for teenagers is another story? Not too sure what the answer is once a team or athlete in a schools competition reaches national levels, BUT throwing out the whole question due to overt, raging sexism is NOT the way to handle school sports! I really don’t see why trans youngsters should not be playing in whatever team they can gain entry to!
I say this within the context of schools themselves specifically using testosterone levels as a means of picking who is in a team – especially in football where youngsters who have already started their growth spurt are guaranteed to be chosen over boys who have potential but have not started maturing.
It is time to stop this insanity towards a tiny, tiny portion of the population who are not getting in the way of the rest of the population anyway.
