I bought the vinyl 1 month ago. I didn't know about this version of the record until then. Thanks for your reviews of Tull anniversary vinyls and cd-boxes. I wish you the best.

I learned my lesson. When this stuff comes up for pre-sale, act straight away. Thrilled to get the deluxe cd set. Lp sounds choice!

This vinyl edition sounds totally awesome!!! Really surprised that you don’t own a turntable. It is where the fun is. Really enjoy your reviews and consider you to be extremely knowledgable in the classic rock genre. But, for God’s sake, GET A TURNTABLE!!! Lol !! Cheers

Does Not sound good. I bought the original when it came out. I don’t have it anymore, so I thought this was a good time to get it again. I remember it sounding so much better. The drums are buried and muffle and more….very disappointing.

I was at the first performance of thick as a brick….at the de montford hall in leister…1972 i believe. The white coated roadies, several of them fiddled and diddled for an age until the slow hand clap started….then the white coats were thrown off and guitars etc picked up and it started. Will never forget it….i still listen to the album and it never ages, even if i do !

Ordered both the re-issued CD box set (out in a few weeks) and, purely for the "package" (not to actually play), the LP version which arrived in great packaging from Burning Shed.
Fabulous album … always will be.
Not sure that investing (again) in a turntable will make your day … you may find that it will take you about 5 minutes to remember why you switched to CDs … the first pop, bump, background rumble, skip, scratch, dust, fluff and faff will see to that … though I did like appreciating / exploring / looking over / reading the material on LP sleeves … that definitely worked … I moved on over 1,000 LPs … I do miss the package of 1 or 2 … but don't miss the hassle … freeing up a lot of space also made Mrs McGregor happy! Burn your old turntable for heat. Yes – I read the news today (sounds familiar I suspect..but no pun intended), I hear you folks' heating costs could go as high as 80% thanks to Russia and the havoc they are causing. You folks in Great Britain have my sympathies as you don't deserve that. Stay warm and burn old disco records….maybe like "Love Beach".

Grabbed this one a few weeks back. One thing though, on the original British pressing the paper was more newspapery, less heavyweight paper (but heavier cover) and folded into the inside of jacket. Also the spine on this seems a bit flat. TBH almost any of the recent re-releases and half speed masters at least gave me a poly lined sleeve or even rice paper, so that's a bit disappointing. The Roxy half speeds from Germany they actually seem to remove the LP from the original black sleeve and put it into a rice paper sleeve, and slip the black one in next to it.
