Michigan’s Mackinac Island prepares for winter as over 300 horses head back to mainland

As winter approaches, Mackinac Island is preparing for its annual tradition of transporting horses back to the mainland.

With the end of the season in sight, many employees on the island are also planning to use their vacation time.

Before the horses bid farewell to the island, they undergo preparations for the winter months.

    As long as these horses are very well taken care of and not literally worked to death, it is ok to Work with them. The big horses seem to be used up and thrown away too often. But, if they treat them with love and respect, the horses should be fine.
