Native Voice One | October 14, 2025

Writer, actress, comedienne, and activist Jana Schmieding is known for her work with Native-themed series such as Rutherford Falls and Reservation Dogs, but she’s also a “Duck”.

The University of Oregon alum was this year’s commencement speaker and spent this weekend reconnecting with her campus community.

Brian Bull from National Native News caught up with her before her address, which is available as a digital-exclusive in its entirety, followed by her full address, courtesy of UO.
