I remember Immanuel Kant and Kurt Godel spot point exposing the inherent limits of our knowledge— of pure reasoning, formal mathematical systems and even science itself. Yet most contemporary scientists esp. physicists can't even stand a minute for philosophers of science making an interdisciplinary discourse.

I get that he probably saw some utility in everyone communally sharing resources and all looking out for the better of one another, which is just a recreation of the family, but he also had to see that it suffered from the same flaws even moreso than his concept of modern capitalism did. Instead of money influencing people's decisions and policy, the state just skips the money part and directly controls people's decisions and policy.

The problem of "humans cant be trusted with sole ownership over massive resources" isn't solved by giving humans direct control over massive resources.

Oh, I didn't know Einstein was also into ethical culturalism! Again, it's something I've been saying for a couple of years but never heard anyone else say it and suddenly BOOM: turns out it has a name and someone awesome had that same thought before! Cool!

Love the topics and depth, but I think it would be beneficial to have a segment that sort of simplifies the concepts presented. I am able to grasp, but not everyone who finds these videos will be as versed into this topic and will have a hard time following. Quality content tho!

I love these videos because they are so grounded in what the original philosopher believed and that’s what I respect and love. The ones who have lived before us must be remembered, learned from and that’s the first step humanity can take to peace.

State ownership of the means of production will never lead to prosperity freedom or happiness. Socialism will always lead to totalitarianism and ultra violent statism. Just look at the 20th century

No one should ignore and exclude philosophy and ethics from their lives and professions.. that's a dangerous deformation of our modern highly specialised way of life, but it's simply wrong both on the individual and humanity level. What would be of us if scientists such as Einstein hadn't advocated against the use of nuclear weapons that they themselves made possible?

Literally Einstein: "It would be nice if we could transition to a social and economic system that, instead of concentrating power, serves the people's needs and wishes."
The comments: "wow he's so stupid"

I think ultimately socialism would be the best model, but it will never work as long as human decision making plays a big role in it, whereas capitalism works not only despite but precisely because of our flawed human nature.
Socialism will work once we have AI capable of managing it, but every other attempt before that will always result in catastrophe and tragedy far greater than any problems capitalism brings.

Somewhat related is the Stephen Jay Gould quote, “I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.”
