2009’s Avatar was the highest-grossing movie of all time. Naturally, that meant sequel-time, and FAST. Okay maybe not fast. Maybe not even slow-paced. Maybe THIRTEEN YEARS LATER James Cameron has brought us back to the world of Pandora, along with all the characters whose names we definitely remember.

Avatar: The Way Of Water definitely raises some questions. Like why spend so much money bringing back Colonel Quarritch to life, the guy who famously failed the last time he attempted something similar to this mission? Why does Jake suddenly decide that it’s suddenly time to run away after literally heading into battle regularly? Where did all the ocean people go in the third act? How many decades until the next movie?

To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to Avatar: The Way Of Water.

appreciation to you Mr Pitch Meetings, watching these is actually a lot better than watching the movies themselve selves, I get my dose of cringe in a fraction of the time, the economics, baaabyyy

my favorite part about this movie is how they make it a point to show only white male soldiers dying horrifically during the battles, even though they make it another point to show that the soldiers are comprised of all different races. this movie felt like propaganda

The start of the movie made it seem like it would be about the continued fight against humans (and i hoped the preservation of the tribe's way of life and Pandora from the first movie), but then the movie pivoted to family on forced vacation drama. I was so disappointed. They completely changed the tone and setup of the start of the movie to something completely different when they went to the water tribe.

Leaving their people was stupid af, you think, humans would give a flying F about Jake not being in the forest? Humans would just burn the entire forest, they were destroying everything in the first movie. The plot in this movie made no sense.

Didn't he bond with the planet's freaking apex predator, a red dragon thing as big as a plane? Couldn't he have just gotten that to come take out all the bad guys on their little boats?

The thing that frustrated me so so SO much about this movie was that Sully chockes out the bad guy right… Underwater.
That's right, he managed to cut off his AIR supply…. UNDERWATER!?

I like Avatar 1. But Avatar 2 has moved the story not a single inch forward. Also nothing makes sense. Apart from some nice (but really lengthy) water environment shots, this is totally skippable.
