I used to have a pattern back in the day for 2600 Pac-Man but I don't remember how it goes. I think the singers in the Dig Dug movie trailer might have been Devo (from Whip It fame). I had Xevious for the 7800 back in the day and I remember liking it.

They didn’t include every arcade version because Atari had nothing to do with the US releases of Galaxian and Pac-Man in the arcades, Midway handled those

So, they aren’t releasing this for their own VCS platform? That’s bullish!t!

Dude the majority of crap ancient arcade ports on PS network is 7 dollars a pop. For 8 dollars you are getting a decent selection. If they included the insanely popular arcade ports youd be paying 20 for this DLC. Its obvious what happened, they kept the pricetag low for entry-level players new to this.

Hey, I tried my mouse on this Breakout game and nothing. I use my mouse for lots of other games on my XBox'es but this Atari 50 is a no go. Funny that Missile Command Re-imagined (Stand alone XBox game) the mouse works. But not in Atari 50. Did you have to do anything special to make it work?

Oh, shit. The menu music totally does sound a little like Video Fever from Wargames. I'd never noticed before. o.o

Love the atari games.

It's definitely a hard pass. Looks like they were hobbled by licensing.

I'll probably pass but I do have the expanded version and I LOVE IT. Been deep diving your Uploads Jon and it aligns with my gaming values. As always thanks.

Dude. This is so good! I had never played Galaxian or Xevious before, & I am in absolute HEAVEN! Also, I am reminded that the 2600 port of DigDug really was as great as I remember. Whoever ported that deserves a raise! It may be more fun than the arcade version!

Hi Jon, sorry I missed the live… I watched it today and bought the DLC for PS4 right after, it's amazing, the interviews are cool too

I snapped up the previous expansions, I thought they were excellent value. This is the total opposite 😂. This one is a pretty embarrassing effort in my opinion. Great video as always from your goodself though. Cheers.

I bought the DLC for my PlayStation 5 and Xbox One last night… Now I play Atari… everywhere!
@FuzzyDan
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
I really hope they do a DLC of the Imagic line of games. Those were some of the best created for the Atari 2600 hands down. Very inventive. Heck, even the box art was phenomenal.

February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
I wish namco would do a namco collection that spells out namco. Similar to what they did on the original PlayStation namco collection did. Maybe includethe arcade perfect versions and home ports of those games.

Hi. I missed the live show. I wish we could replay the chat, as some other youtubers do. Nice video… I'm going to get this just fro the Dig-Dug.
That's the best version I've seen so far. See you next time!

I hope the partnership continues with Bob D’s other pac-man versions. Doesn’t he have a super pacman?

The Todd Frye video about his version of 2600 Xevious is a great piece. I understand the disappointment for some, but the fact that these stories and artifacts are added to the timeline is wonderful. The fact that Atari 50 is a “living document” is (correct me if I’m wrong) ground breaking for this type of media.

Dig-Dug also taught us sadism. Did you ever blow up the last Pooka or Fygar before they got to the point of exploding and let them deflate and then repeat the process? We were evil little f***ers.

I went thru this myself tonight, PS4 version. I love the history.

Atari 2600 Dig Dug is one of the easiest games I think I've ever played.
@JGKingCrusher
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
I'm happy with this, but of course I wish they had added the obvious. But for 8 bucks, you really can't complain too much.

I remember watching a video on British Arcade cabinet making and distribution. The shady industry was a hot bag of ferrets fighting to make a pound(buck) on games. They had stated The Dig Dug concept internally designed by their team was out on test and in less than month Namco stole dig a maze and shot your enemy game concept and was in full production before they had wide release. They too would copy Pong and breakout concept games in their market, similar to Nintendo and Sega did in early days. They stated they would bulk buy Atari boards and make cabaret cabinets in the UK market as differences between power, display, frequency , and other issue needed conversion to get machines to work in UK.

Found it a bit odd that in the interview about 2600 he didn't talk about it not being released and that this version isn't part of the coilection.Also would it have been so difficult to wear something that doesn't have to be covered over.Anyway its still a good dlc at a fair price.
@phroobar
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
Too bad they didn't include the 5200 prototype of Xevious. Or the 8bit conversation.
@ST2008X
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
The Atarisoft Commodore Vic-20 version of Galaxian is great. I played it with an Atari Trackball Controller set to digital mode. Too bad the Atarisoft Namco and Atari games are not part of Atari 50.
@cdoty
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
Many Atari 2600 arcade translations were reinterpretations of the original game. Vanguard was not even close to the arcade original, but it was still a fun game to play.
@AudioGuyBrian
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
I went ahead and bought it. Already have all the other DLC. Gotta get 'em all!
@davy_K
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
8bit computer galaxian is an odd one. The alien flight paths are a bit kooky but it's fun.
@paulmodjeski8958
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
I wish they had Pole Position Atari 2600, 5200, and 8 bit computers.
@Nimbus-n1y
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
They were doing so well then they release this crap 😂
@paulmodjeski8958
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
Atari did not make the arcade version of Pac-Man; they licensed it for the home port and computers. that why it not on Atari 50: The NAMCO LEGENDARY PACK
@atariboy9084
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
BTW many folks wondering why Pac-Man arcade was not on the Atari 50 I also asking that with someone at last PRGE and its in a nutshell Namco wanted folks to play the arcade Pac-Man only from there Namco's Pac-Man Museum + if anyone only wanted to play OG Pac-Man they had to buy that but they let Atari use the crappy versions for now on the Atari 50
@artao5
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
Absolutely buying this. Just one thing I want to know: Do we have to "unlock" any of the games like we did in the original collection (I unlocked em all, but it was a bit annoying to do and have to do)
@dakoota3332
February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
Great dlc. especially Galaxian 2600, what a great game! I hope that there will be a Galaxian 2600 atari+ cartridge release one day.

February 22, 2026 at 6:58 pm
Meanwhile back on GOG it's listed but it's been on "Coming Soon" for quite a while now.. but hey, atleast they finally did that version update to the base game and made all the additional dlc packs available. The price of sticking to your guns huh lol have to take the consequences of delays 😅
