As a millennial, I want to blame mumblecore (film subgenre). Before that, it felt like we just had the word hardcore relating to music, porn, and being tough.

We should start Core-Core just combine as many different styles as possible the worse it looks the better. Even the algorithm willl be confused on what the hell it should sell you.

“_ core” and its already a named style that’s existed for more than 10 years but they did zero research on its origin or what it means to be wearing that. The amount of children wearing literal s worker clothes is insane.

Let's try Real Core. We buy clothes that are comfortable and utilitarian. But there has to be Metal and Punk shirts.

Let's not forget how much Gregg Ginn copped his guitar sound from the Stains and shelved their record for 2 years at SST.

subcultures died because everything got blended and homogenized by the algorithm and is all one click away conforming with broader social media standards. All that remains is the husk in the form of tik toks were kids try on different costumes.

People slap this name on things because people are obsessed with labels.
We’ve seen this with lgbtq-hdtv
We’ve seen this with races we’ve seen this with more sexual preferences we’ve seen this with autism anyone who is a little weird gets a name gets told or self diagnosed with an ism or a adhd. It’s embarrassing.
Mostly all this crap comes from Americans but with all being religiously online it is given to the world then too.
It’s not cool to be normal or even say you’re just a little weird you like these things you have to connect yourself with a group to make yourself part of something bigger than you.
It was the same with women saying “we’re feminists” people connect themselves to a thing, a thing that will make them part of something and they feel great because it’s not just about their small life and their shit choices they’re doing this for the good of the group.
