Do any of these surprise you? Do you have any CDs in your collection you just cannot listen to?

Bit off the mark with Enya, the production methods of that time were not able to produce the complex organic sounding harmonies on this album. It needed Enya's quality vocals. To dis such an achievement is a little thoughtless. We have all been tainted by the capabilities of modern production, cynicism rules. You win this week's Zappa award 🙂

Totally agree with RHCP. When any Peppers song comes on anymore while listening to the radio or streaming I can't hit skip fast enough. I used to really like them and now for whatever reason I loathe them

Fiona Apple – Tidal. It was great getting ready to end a relationship, but happily married, it's not relatable anymore

I actually prefer Alanis Morissette's Acoustic version of Jagged Little Pill. More raw, less busy than the regular version.

One for me is Blood Sugar Sex Magik. I loved it when it came out, but everyone had it and the radio was relentless. I think I just got tired of it.

Never play them again? Haha. I'd never ever OWN them to begin with, all crap. Except Enya first cd. Not that it was that great, but it happened to be the first cd I ever heard. A friend had a cd player, I didn't but I was wanting one, she played this cd and I was out the next day buying a cd player, back then they were expensive!

I listen to all formats. Sometimes a " Best Of" CD is like a cheat code. I have 3. Cheryl Crow, Paul Weller and Lloyd Cole and the Commotions. First 2 sound perfectly acceptable. The Lloyd Cole is terrible. I can't rule out that it's bogus but it's a lot of work to do for such a terrible fake. The maxim " Garbage in Garbage out" is something I associate with huge computers with tiny memory that I wrestled with 50 years ago. That Maxim still stands today in both the digital and analogue domains. It breaks me that 180 gsm is considered the gold standard in vinyl. I have Abraxas on a super thin vinyl that sounds amazing.

Vapor Trails from Rush for me. Not because of the songs themselves but because of the terrible mixing. When they released the remix of Vapor Trails I never listened to the first pressing again.

The Crash Test Dummies album is the only one I bought, and I still really like a few of the songs now. I do kind of hate a lot of the long haired 90s bands though, just too much of their time.

there are times that one just outgrows the anger of youth, so to speak. as you have issues listening to The Wall today, well, I do, too…
But one key example for me is Marillion's Fugazi. I respect the music, still, but I just, at 56, stable family, great kid, solid career, and comfortable life…I just can't relate to it. Nothing of that anger in that album any way attracts me or calls out to me.
I get that some of those 90s albums, the "Canadian Angst Era" as I called it back then, can be the same. At my age now, there's just nothing in it to relate to. It speaks from an anger I was never part of and have no place in my life today.
