Requiring cursive writing in modern day grammar school is nothing short of cruel and unusual punishment, for the sake of nostalgic idealism. It is no wonder that Gen Z feels tutored and why bother. They totally sense where they are being corralled into and it is not what any recent generations living before them would want if they were faced with the same. I am Gen Jones and I relate with the extreme disappointments from all the societal half-baked idioms and so many broken promises and outright lies they so clearly see.

Learning cursive wasn't 'all for nothing'. It is a beautiful way to write. I use it daily in my journal. My son only writes in cursive and is always praised for his lovely handwriting. And I guarantee you that receiving a handwritten (in cursive) letter from someone in the mail is even more special and appreciated than ever before.

They held me back for my cursive alone in elementary school English and I had to take summer school just for it to avoid it

In europe cursive is still used wildely and I use it everyday to take notes because it helps me remember

Jung said God is dead…however, he is alive and kicking. It's beauty, intelligence, curiosity, artistry, cursive, humanity, thought and beauty that are struggling for their last breaths. AI will be the fire that ultimately burns away any humanity human beings might happen to continue to possess. If one doesn't know what real life is, one doesn't have the interest nor care needed to preserve it.

I'm sorry but i still write in cursive when i need to write and i love it. Yes, is a dead thing writting in general, but is good to know how to do the basics. People need to know how electricity works, computers, cooking, writting, sewing and many skills that made humanity what it is. I know how to do a pcb board if i need to and also build a chair from scratch, if society dies or i need to deal with a situation on my own i'll know how to handle it for the most part and i'm hardly a preper. I'll watch the rest of the video but having a general knowledge and know that you can make your own things is important.

We trusted Rockefeller with our educational system and our heath care system, how did that work out?
Look at who is responsible for AI and the surveillance industry.
Look at the obvious fake space program
And out financial institutions and companies?? We trusted them to ensure out prosperity as individuals and as families
Why would we trust this same lineage to think they have our best interests at heart ?
To say AI is good for us is wholeheartedly irresponsible
You said it in the video we are becoming less intelligent and relying on AI for school for work for life
Why even be human ?
This path is the path of trans humanism
And eventual the complete destruction and annihilation of the species we call human
That may be evolutionary who knows but it is not hard to see

The eventual realization must come from within

People oftentimes say "There is nothing wrong with using AI! You also use a calculator to do math and google maps to navigate!!"
But, yes, you replaced one skill with a tool, you gave away your skill of doing instant math for a tool that does instant math, you gave away your navigation skills for a tool that navigates for you, those are skills that are not that often used.
But I personally draw the line at Ai, cuz you replace thinking, thinking is all you are.
You give away your researching skills (cuz AI tells you the information), your problem solving skills (Cuz ai solves your problem, does your homework, makes your projects), your patience ( cuz Ai gives you instant information)
This affects all you life, from the moment you need to research a school for your kids, to the moment you need to build some ikea furniture or wait in line for meds at the pharmacy.
Researching, problem solving, critical thinking, planning, that's all you have and all you are, if you use a tool for that then that's basically the idiocracy movie.
Or maybe, one day you will light up a candle near something flammable and say "it's not a big deal, it's far enough" then you will die in your sleep in a fire cuz your critical thinking skills were not good enough to correctly judge the distance between the candle and that flammable thingy.
Like, you NEED those skills.. you shouldn't replace them.
That's where I personally draw the line, I want to think for myself, to research the info I need, to solve my own problems, me, not AI.
I sadly already see this happening in my college, teachers ask chatGPT for information and the teacher sends us screenshots of his conversation with AI so we can learn it, they make the test subjects with AI, students cheat with AI, our teachers grade the tests with Ai like wtf are we even doing here bro…
One time our teacher was sharing his screen and was asking ChatGPT why something in Mathlab does not work, and then the teacher started explaining to us what ChatGPT said…… I am not even lying…. wtf are we doing

I'm glad that I not only learned to write in cursive (poorly!) but that I also learned how to read it, too. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to read my late grandmother's handwriting ❤

This is the founding of the US public education system, they said it from the get go. The education system was never intended to benefit the people who went through it, it was intended to condition students into becoming servants for other people, to be workers who produced for other people. It was always dead, it was never about what it is purported to be about.

I went to primary school in the late 90s, and now I can only write in cursive; those nuns were very strict.

I got a little whiplash at about 2:45 when you went from an unfamiliar USA context to a more familiar context. You missed a lot of backstory about why the US reduced handwriting and what that means for literacy rates compared with other English (or at least Latin alphabet)-writing countries.

Cursive helps with fine hand movements and improves cognitive ability. But the United States seem to want to keep students stupid. No child should be advanced out of Kindergarten if they cannot read simple reader books, for example: "Jan runs left. Billy runs right. Additionally, being able to read an analog clock is also important for one important reason the electrical Grid. If the grid goes down, then so does everything digital. So, writing by hand and reading an analog clock will be essential in SHTF situation.

I think humanity has taken the wrong turn, so long ago, that even archeologists will have difficulty to pinpoint. This is just another notch over the previous delusion we experience and call civilization.
