Looper | December 12, 2025

Slight issue. If you only reset if you die. How does emily blunts character know zhe lost the power after being given blood? How does he?
There would only be one way to test it.

Cage isn’t an alpha, he killed the omega. He is the omega now. That’s why he reset the day to a more favorable time. The blood covering him is the omega. So in 30 or so years when he goes out, back he will come. My opinion. It makes sense.

If he reset time the last time he died, and this resulted in him living, it makes no sense as the mimics died the day he was flying to London. What should have happened was that the mimics would die, the omega would die and cage would die. There is no explanation other than a happy ending needed by Hollywood. The book ended as follows: Before Rita dies, Keiji confesses his developing feelings for her before she tells him to win the war quickly and prevent anyone else from suffering their fate. He slaughters the remaining Mimics and destroys the nexus. Weeks later, he is hailed as a new hero of the United Defense Forces while he silently reflects on what transpired and the sacrifice needed for them to win the battle. He paints his exoskeleton blue in honor of her memory.

Incorrect. When he killed the Omega he was surrounded by the Omegas blood and not the Alpha's blood. With the Omega dead he wouldn't have been able to reset even if it was the Alphas blood. Hence, it's quite simple that he now has the Omega's power. Don't know how stuff like this isn't easily picked up.

By far one of my favorite movies of all time. I’ve told countless of friends to watch it but they keep knocking it, and then they finally watched it and said WOW it’s so good!

Alternate explanation, depending on how much time has elapsed in the final scenes. Omega is killed, doesn't reset, but Cage is reset yet another day earlier, in which case the Omega is still alive, but unaware of the threat posed by Cage, allowing Cage to save everyone that was killed in the original assault on Omega by taking out an unaware Omega that night or early morning after Cage's new reset time, where later in the day he sees his troop marching on his way to meet Vrataski again.

Tom Cruise became the Omega. I think the Mimics want to be defeated in a way where the Omega can transfer it's consiouness into the most competent being of the most dominant species of each planet. Why would such an advanced race of aliens waste all their power on total destruction? I think their purpose is to challenge the dominant species on every planet and then reach an even higher level of evolution by fusing with them.

What if Cage gets ability to receive communication from the entity that sent the mimic bioweapon?
He was bathed in omega blood the last time, not just an alpha…
It seems that the blood is some kind of a marker, and who ever get tagged by it gets the role privileges.

Cage kills the alpha at 11 AM today . And Gets reset to 6 AM yesterday.

This time he kills Omega like at 2 AM on the invasion Day.
He gets reset to an earlier check point.

    The sleep is the checkpoint.

I don't think in the end Cage will get Rita's affection and love as depicted before the last time they died (where she kissed him and wished she knew more of him). Which I think is a great ending to it (frankly I get tired of those movies of the hero getting the girl at the end after the heroic act cause its such a cliche'). Their whole experience together and sacrifice had to have been in real time for her to fall for him. Even if later on they find a quiet corner to talk about it and Rita chooses to believe him and his unbelievable story, it will still be difficult to recreate their moments and to attempt a relationship will be a bit creepy if you think about it (like a stalker hacking into your laptop and learning everything about you by looking at your photos and stories of your past and using that info to manipulate you into liking them).
