The stories included in this report are so relevant and important to the larger story. Thank you for mentioning the Marshall Islands story.

I didn't think the film was perfect by any means, but I disagree with the interpretation that it meant to glorify the character of Oppenheimer. If anything it portrays him as a complete cipher without any serious convictions. It isn't intended to be a comprehensive history of the Manhattan Project. It's simply a story about the Manhattan Project told from the perspective of Oppenheimer.
The fact that it doesn't actually portray any of the consequences of Oppenheimer's actions is a big part of why the movie is effective. It's not because these events aren't important, but because it demonstrates how the liberal intellectual class can compartmentalize their support for an exploitative capitalist system while wiping their hands clean of any of any of the death and destruction it causes because it benefits them personally.

Enlightening discussion. 👏🏾
Although I am not Native American, I enjoyed the analysis, insight and discussion from the perspective of your community.
Btw, the uranium used on Japan was taken from the mineral rich lands of the DRC in Africa by making the people dig out the cancer causing uranium with their hands (just like the cobalt mines mixed in with uranium, for our smart phones and EVs today from the Congo).
What the west doesn't understand is that you cannot build your wealth or your societies off of atrocities, and benefit from it in your daily existence/life from generation to generation while others suffer and struggle in other places from generation to generation………..
and then claim that it doesn't pertain to you?!?!
Great discussion. ✌🏾
