Thanks for watching! Hope you liked it. Whether it’s Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Noname, or anyone in between, I can’t seem to get away from the whole “she’s a good FEMALE rapper”, sort of thing. It’s been bugging me to no end and I can’t imagine what it’s like for them to hear it all the time too. So, let’s have a conversation, go through the history of women in rap (Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah, etc.) and then talk about the newer rappers, like Leikeli47 and CupcakKe.

As a European, the only relevant name in the mentioned female rappers is Missy Elliot.
I cannot name any single title by Nicky Minaj or Cardi B. And Queen Latifah is an actress 😳

I’d say that also when anything is mainly initiated by a particular gender culture or nationality. It tends to label those who follow into it later. Also any competitive thing tends to classify based differentials. Favorite female rapper is snow da product

I'm years late but the way I see it its the same as white rappers. You have female rappers who are only hyped up and supported cause theyre a woman like white rappers then you have women who rap just like white guys that rap.

says Korean rapper, gets set on fire for mentioning that the artist is Korean
If you try to rewrite the phrase, trying to communicate to the other person that you would want specifically a female artist to be mentioned in the video, you would find it difficult to actually make a comprehensible request, or at least hard to not make it sound fkin stupid. Btw, it's ok Nicki, if I'm assertive nowadays, I get called the embodiment of toxic masculinity and get my shit cancelled for #noreason, sorry but just so you know, the shit that I had to endure as a guy are equally as detrimental, so I guess yay equality, most ppl hate and don't give a shit about anyone else except themselves, regardless of gender, race, or w/e. These are just mediums to express the hate, while reducing the backlash… #areason

in case anyone is wondering, currently, the best "female rapper" is Lady Leshurr.. For real, if you're not familiar, please give a listen: https://www.youtube.com/user/ItsLadyLeshurr

edit: made the first part of the comment before watching the whole video – you showed clips of Lady Leshurr and I got all excited, but then you didn't mention her 🙁 Oh well, at least you're aware of her 😉 Thanks for the interesting/informative content!
