Ways Scotland Has Been Totally Mistreated Throughout History
On a Scottish history timeline, you can see how the English have used, abused, and downright insulted Scotland. Slurs, jokes, and awful stereotypes aside, the English were responsible for the most horrible atrocities committed in Scotland.
The 18th-century Battle of Culloden and its aftermath were particularly difficult for the beautiful, culturally rich country, but mistreatment didn’t start or stop there. Scottish history facts are full of examples of disputes and hardships, many of which may make you sympathize with England’s northern neighbor.

2:44 Actually after choosing John Balliol as king the condition was that John would swear allegiance to Edward as Lord Paramount, the feudal superior of the Scottish realm. The Scots reluctantly accepted but it wasnโt long before they regretted their decision because Edward I demanded the Scots to pay taxes, demanded Scottish troops to fight his war in Wales and he demanded legal authority over their king. The Scots then pressured John Balliol to make an alliance with France and they launched an unsuccessful preemptive strike against the English

Always wondered why Charlie chose to fight at Culloden, When it made more sense to keep withdrawing Westwards down the Great Glen, closer to where their Main Support came from and Supplies could be had?

It wasn't the Ferocity of the Caledonians that saw off the Romans or the English, It was the Weather and worse, the Highland Midges that have seen off Invaders and Repeat Tourists for Millenia ๐ Imagine having Midges up your Toga or inside your Armour ๐

I've noticed the English don't mind bullying folks but when they are bullied they act like wusses ๐

The Jacobite revolt of 1745 wasnt a Scottish rebellion. It was mostly Scottish Gaelic speaking highlanders, that were rebelling against the British crown. Lots of Scottish lowland and some highland clans fought on the British side, against the Jacobite rebels, led by Bonnie Prince Charlie. It was not a Scotland versus England conflict. It was Britain against Scottish highland rebels, led by a Prince, who believed his family were the real rulers of Britain. Your video is a quite generalised and misleading at times. History is usually more complicated, than can fitted into 12 minutes and 44 seconds.

The idea that Scottish people "hate the English" is a very common myth ๐ฏ
The overwhelming majority of Scots are proudly British and consider the English, Welsh and Northern Irish to be our brothers ๐ฌ๐ง
Only the catholic minority (around 16% of the population) have a particular disdain towards England ๐

1. There were more Scots in the Government side at Culloden than on the Jacobite side.
2. When Henry VII married his daughter married his daughter Margaret to James IV, English nobles complained that this would give the Scots power over England. Henry replied 'If any differences come between our two realms, the greater shall draw the lesser!'
Henry VII is the favourite king of George Osborne, former Chancellor of the Exchequer 2010-16.

The battle of Culloden and events leading upto it was not a war between Scotland and England, it was between the British and the Jacobites. That British army at Culloden was half filled with Scottish southerners. A union between Scotland and England began in 1707 making them both British long decades before Culloden.
I'm Scottish…just saying.

Obe if my biggest grips is when they refer to wars such as ww2 as if they were fighting just England and they would say things like ' for the glory of England'. They completely overlooked and underappreciated the cintrubutuin of the Scottish, Welsh, Irish and other colonial powers. It just goes to show their superiority complex and the contempt they showed for other nations
