When major employers like Walmart, Amazon, and FedEx announce layoffs, it can make people wonder what’s happening beneath the surface of the economy. Do you think this is a sign of a bigger slowdown, or are companies simply adjusting to changing consumer habits? Why?

It's better to trust in the Lord🏳️"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." — Psalm 118:8
Psalm 118:9 — "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes."
Proverbs 3:5-6 — "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Jeremiah 17:7 — "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."
    Maranatha, Amen.

You can't apply for unemployment until you are truly…unemployed AND have your last paycheck in hand because that is one of the questions on the form. I lost my job last year so I know recently…Also, some states, because they were upset at the extended unemployment benefits during the er, 2020 "situation", have actually cut the amount of weeks you are eligible. From 26 weeks down to 12 weeks in Tennessee. Unemployment is not something you can live on, I understand that. It's just a bridge…but oh, boy, it is so low because that, like minimum wage, hasn't increased for so long to keep up with the cost of living, just BARELY covered my COBRA payments and I was on a high deductible (not cadillac) plan.

I was very fortunate in finding a better paying job before my severance ran out but I "thank my lucky stars" (momism) (and also thank God/Jesus).

And more are on the way. We are all about to live in a free society possibly 5 years. But it might mean a 1/3 off the population will need to disappear before then along with strict rules on populating.

You should do a more detailed review of this topic. What I mean is stuff like the automation and outsourcing of these jobs in order for them to keep their bottom line high or higher

My Dad said: The rumors at Westinghouse started decades before it happened. First they said there would be layoffs and all of these jobs would go overseas. Union worker's didn't believe it. Then, they laughed. Warnings kept coming. Then silence. Then they started to take it seriously. Then, it was too late.

Bottom line, we are seeing unprecedented consolidation of services to maximize every penny for the shareholders. Wall street is doing just fine in 2026. On the other hand, labor (worker bees) is getting completely hammered with more work or being let go.

When Black Americans told you about this years ago, all white people kept saying was "GO WOKE, GO BROKE"….. Now the same white people are in the comment section talking about American society needs to "WAKE UP" and fight against the government that's bankrupting everything 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is your fight White America! Black folks been living like this for centuries due to racism, economic deprivation, discrimination, and Jim Crow laws, which covertly still stands today in 2026. So good luck trying to fight against the government.

Watching business over the years with constant changes of doing business has taken its toll !
Watching what happened in Russia with drone attacks really woke up how vulnerable commerce can be , when you put everything under one distribution point !
