"Honey I Shrunk The Kids" was released the same day (June 23,1989; my 30th birthday) as Tim Burton's "Batman". The "Barbenheimer" of that day.

I enjoyed Bad Times at the El Royale; saw it in a tiny theater with about 10 other people. And watch it every time it’s on TV (FX). Also saw Mission Impossible in theaters and not the ones it was up against.

for the most part you are wrong with the exception of those who only go to the movies once a year those movies mentioned did bad because they were bad movie's for example I watched peter pan and it was a lousy movie!

The 2023 MI movie was… full of Tom Cruise stunts, sure. That was the one that ends with a whole cliffhanger scene as the train drops one carriage at a time, wasn't it? "Awesome"? Yeah, not so sure about that. It certainly went on for way too long. Felt like they discovered a couple hundred million $$$ in the budget they hadn't spent, and decided to just go completely apeshit with the action VFX. I love action movies but I was rolling my eyes in the last 3/4 of an hour, thinking Oh FFS just end this, will ya?

Dark City: The Director's Cut. Dark City is a thrilling Neo Sci Fi Noir that due to studio intervention got panned and forgotten. Luckily, for new audiences they can get the director's cut that does'nt spoil itself in the opening credits.
