As a consumer I don't appreciate the check coming bc I'm paying attention to the comedian. I already bought however many drinks they told me I had to to come in there (usually more) and now I have to talk to staff, fish around in my pocket, do math and get taken right out of the thing that I came to see. Just finish the show and then I'll be in the right mood to tip. It doesn't do the waitstaff any favors, consequently.

Speaking of eating onstage, I remember set I saw on TV as a kid of Peter Gallager at the Improv, taking a drink off the table of a couple in front, asking very politely if he could have a sip, before wrapping his whole mouth around the top of the highball glass, holding the glass in his mouth and turning it upside down, before letting the contents pour back into the glass and then handing it back to the couple. Then he turned to the next table. “So what are you guys drinking over here?” Pretty epic. Not sure of it was improv or not. It seemed pretty carefully crafted. I’ll be you could find it here on Youtube, as I think a lot of “Evening at the Improv” is uploaded.

Love Todd, BUT there is more recent evidence that blocking kids from all peanut exposure the first few years of their life, as had been the recommendation for decades, has been causing an increase in peanut allergies.

Love Todd. Fantastic comic. Small venues and clubs are the best shows. Despise the check spot! My person and I saw Petey H at Wise guys SLC, our check came, lost track of what he was saying for 3-5 secs and was robbed of 2 whole laughs. We'll never get them back and a priceless moment was lost. Never again. We developed system 😏
