    It is not even that Correlation does not equal Causation. It's that, in these cases, correlation does not equal correlation. I.e. The two variables are not correlated even if you can plot them that way on a chart.

    This is why confounders on research should ALWAYS be eliminated at all cost to increase research quality and decrease chances of misinformation

    Also media is horrible

    There’s probably a strong correlation between number of ashtrays in someone’s house and lung disease rates but ashtrays don’t directly cause lung diseases

    I saw this thing, which was ‘if a study says American woman who own horses live longer, it’s probably not because they own a horse but because they can afford health care’

    Another example :
    "Sleeping with your shoes increase the risk of headaches"
    You just drank too much alcohol yesterday so you just fell asleep with your shoes and felt headaches 😉
