It is not even that Correlation does not equal Causation. It's that, in these cases, correlation does not equal correlation. I.e. The two variables are not correlated even if you can plot them that way on a chart.

This is why confounders on research should ALWAYS be eliminated at all cost to increase research quality and decrease chances of misinformation

There’s probably a strong correlation between number of ashtrays in someone’s house and lung disease rates but ashtrays don’t directly cause lung diseases
