These Sisters Are The Worst, and I Love Them (Daria)

When I do these videos I try to make them concise and not add too much fluff, but sometimes this results in me leaving things out that probably should make the video. As many commenters have pointed out, I probably should have discussed the episodes Boxing Daria and Aunt Nauseum, which are huge milestones in the evolution of Daria and Quinn!

The teachers. Boy, I never had so much to say about anything on line 😮. Anyways, the teachers are also classic. We have all had at least one teacher like one of those. The guy who kills me the most, of course, is the teacher with the bulging eye . He's a killer.

I'll say this years ago when I first watched this show I just took it at face value. Now , in rewatch, I really think that except for THE TWILIGHT ZONE and some other classic comedy shows, I think it was the smartest " cartoon" ever ❤. Thanks for this great somery of an unbelievable show. By the way, I'm 67 years old now and can't believe I still love this show 😊.

Our brilliant economists with PhDs still cannot talk about Planned Obsolescence in automobiles and the Annual Depreciation.

This is still a nation of television brainwashed consumers. Just with more homeless people.

With Quinn, it's an exception. Daria wants for her sister to be the best but she gains it through less integral means. She'd never have given her the compliment or confidence to win as a bright individual–and that was during the earlier seasons if she believed that Quinn couldn't set her mind to it. That said, Daria feels defensive towards Jane flexing her hobbies out of fear, she'll lose her to conformity and render Daria–once again–an outcast. It's not superiority, she's just tired of having nobody else to relate to. And let's be clear, the Boxing Daria is pragmatically the core reason Daria jades herself from folks with low values–aside from other heavy influences nurtured from her environment. It's also another huge development for Quinn bonding with Daria.

Also, I did not there was a new Daria show out there. But it sounds too conceptually abrasive, virtue signaling and loudly unhinged like the totality of YouTube gaming-changing channels and their streamer cousins, to care about it… but have fun experimenting.

I love this show (it's one of the few DVDs that I still own). and I love this analysis. One of the great things about this show is how the characters and relationships grow over time.

My mum used to call me Daria at times I definitely felt a kinship with her.

… Daria is not toxic.
She's a realist.
She doesn't hate people but she doesn't put much stock into people.

And throughout the show we're given reasons why because it's not that difficult to figure out.

And Daria cynicism is not without merit. I think too many people are too complacent to just be a bunch of fake happy having sack trash fire… Just like it was back in the 90s. Talk about disappointing.
