The Weirdest Small Towns In The United States
A post on Medium in May 2016 attempted to tackle a seemingly unanswerable question: what’s the weirdest town in America? To do this, Lyman Stone used 20 different variables, including what percentage of each city’s population was foreign-born, married, working, in the armed forces, etc. He then compared that data to national averages. What he found was that San Jose, CA, is the most bizarre town in the US. But though it may be demographically weird, San Jose doesn’t hold a candle to these weird small towns in the United States.

There are three small towns in Utah called Fillmore, Virgin, and Beaver.
Pretty crass, but also pretty funny.

Thinking of a the Townie Cuisine*†…while wathcing this Weird History video!

I grew up in the next town south of Colma. A common bumper sticker in town reads “It’s good to be alive in Colma”. Many jokes of the town were told such as the average body temperature in Colma is 50 degrees (It doesn’t freeze there). The cemeteries are actually nice. There are ponds with ducks that we used to go feed as kids. Sometimes even having a picnic while also visiting departed folks. Lol
Miracle City🥺, I’ve never heard of it but I’m happy to not live near there!

My hometown which is placed in Tx, 30mins outside of Fort Worth. The town of Roanoke is known for being a one light town and having the most diversity of foods for a small town.

PASTIES…not pastries. I didn't know there's a place in southern Michigan to get these delicious "pocket entrees" (usually beef, rutabaga, onions, flavorings cooked inside a surrounding piecrust-type shell), definitely something I like. A LOT. One usually has to head pretty far north to find these, i. e. at least to Traverse City, or well north of Green Bay. So next time I'm in Ann Arbor, if somebody tells me to "GO TO HELL," I'll gladly go there and pick up some good food in the process, assuming they're true to the customary delicious ones around the Upper Peninsula.
Interestingly that last town, in Illinois, is pronounced Kay-Zee. I haven't been there, but I've visited the world's largest rolling pin (which is actually above the entrance to a little restaurant), which isn't to be found even remotely close to any of the towns in this video.
I have visited Hell and Slab City.

When I was younger, I was homeless in the bay area, and I used to sleep in the cemetery in Colma. One night I woke up to someone saying "Police!" It was 2 cops and after they wanted to see if I was okay, the one cop was like you have to move and can't sleep here and he was like I wouldn't want to be sleeping in a cemetery at 3 in the morning. Go somewhere less spooky please. I wasn't spooked 😂
