The concept of the one-hit wonder is one of my favorite things in music. How can somebody be so successful…just once? No more, no less. This is sorta like that, but a little bit more impressive (depending on how you look at it, idk). Today we’re talking about one-ALBUM wonders. Who had the world in their hands for an entire project and then somehow lost it? Or let go of it on purpose? Etc. Comment down below with any that I might’ve missed.

Okay but can we really count Lauryn Hill, considering that she was working with the Fugees before? Like, she made several beloved albums with them before Miseducation came out

why refer to Lauryn Hill as a one album wonder when her second album "Lauryn Hill MTV Unplugged" has existed for years. ThevSex Pistols aren't one album wonders either. I own their album "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle".

I think another one album wonder to note would be Cap’n jazz with their incredible, raw, and one of a kind album Shmap’n Shmazz

Meatloaf. Other than I’d do anything for love, Bat out of Hell is all he’s really known for.

Not true about George Harrison. Yes nothing stands close to “ATMP,” “The Concert for Bangla Desh” “Living in the Material World” were critical and financial successes, and he’s the last Beatle to have a major pop hit with “Got My Mind Set on You.”

I'm thinking Blind Faith may have only put out one album. Same with Traffic. Both featured musical icons–Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood.

Along with Lauryn Hill, I'd go Alicia Keys Songs in A Minor and Terence Trent D'Arby's debut.

In what way is George Harrison a one album wonder? After All Things Must Pass, George went on the have 2 more number 1 albums, most of his albums reached the top 10, won album of the year, created the first ever charity concert, and of course wrote and produced many hit songs for other artists. ATMP is very much his most well known album, yes, but George was huge. In the 70s he was by far the most successful and critically acclaimed solo Beatle. He was huge.

George Harrison not only had ATMP, but also Living in the Material World, 33 & 1/3, Self Titled 1979, and Cloud 9!!! Not even close to a 1 album wonder!

A band I think of on this topic is royal canoe. Their first album is fantastic but they’ve never been able to put on something as good as Today We’re Believers

I think George Harrison was a miss here. He's not a one album wonder and had a full discography some would dream of having. Cloud Nine, Self titled, LITMW, Brainwashed & 33 1/3 are all fantastic albums.
