I actually learned about all of this in an american school over a decade ago. Still, old people insinuate i'm dumb and that my education is worse than theirs and i'm too preoccupied with my addictions to care.

Fun fact the separatists didnt want to re-enforce a small minded church theology. They were expousing they shouldnt have every sermon approved by over 50 people every single sunday and wednesday to the point they had to put church off until friday and tuesday because of the bureaucracy im not so sure you did enough research on this episode. You got ALOT wrong about the early church. You also left out the part that the Puritan Christians literally rescued squanto and murdered his abductors because they werent down with slavery and it wasnt until the brits came over here AFTER the separatists that you start seeing the slave trade heavily take off with african americans. We wont go into all that though 🙂

Was my education the only one that ONLY talked about Jamestown? All of my elementary teachers went on and on about the historical innacuraccies of pocahontas and jamestown, and the whole plymouth rock thing was a 20 minute addendum at the end of one lesson lol

As a Plymouth County, MA native, I can confirm that that rock is the most monumentally disappointing thing ever 😂 I had an entire family of foreign people ask me where it was one day walking in downtown Plymouth, I told them and they started RUNNING. running for absolutely nothing 😭

Maybe they changed things in the education process to include Jamestown. Im aware not everyone knows about it. I specifically remember many documentaries & assignments on them. I remember from school that they grew tobacco products and sold them to the english territories for a far profit, the downside is it mostly cost them their lives. They starved themselves out because it was a popular settlement, so it became abandoned for quite some time before the english re-invested into bringing the town back

I love them correcting him that it was kook-aid 😂 that stuff you get off the shelves at Walmart and people often give to children… that’s what did it. Straight up poison people. The kool-aid man is basically Jim Jones. No sugar needed… no cyanide needed. It’s all in there baby 😂 one and done

Fun fact. Squanto was Catholic. The Pilgrims went all that way to avoid other religions and then get saved by a Catholic native.
