The Quantum Theory of Consciousness That’s Terrifying Scientists

In this video, we explore one of the most unsettling ideas in science: quantum immortality. Building off the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, this idea suggests that there’s a probabilistic continuance of each of our consciousnesses that will survive everything. It will continue to feel like us, and it will be eternal. And this idea is fully coherent with the math of quantum mechanics…

Wait till he figures out that the teleport actually kills you. You don't wake up the other end more so a copy of you that seems to be the same a yet has your memory. Wait till he finds out we don't actually die at all.

    ‘Scientists’- there it is again!
That cover-all-bullshit-by claiming ‘scientists’ are involved!
    😂😂😂😂
Remind me again… what did ‘scientists’ get right during COVID?

A logical conclusion is that at any one point all versions of you that are alive will be splitting into infinitely many more yous. Thus, it doesn't matter how many of you die; at any one time there will always be infinitely many yous alive. There is no "pruning" of the timelines as the video seems to imply.

7 times now, I've cheated death. Always, it was a "miracle", or "not my time". I stumbled across this idea back in the 00s, and it resonated with me because of my experiences. It's nice to see one of my favorite creators covering it, in a depth that I've never been able to articulate to others.

Can anyone name a scientist embedded in the study of Quantum Mechanics that is "terrified"? I really wish YouTube videos had sensible titles.

Depression is really, really kicking my ass right now… and this was was really well timed. It makes me feel both deeply intrigued and strangely hopeful in a way I can't quite explain. Both of those being reasons I subscribed to this channel several years ago. Thanks for this.

The observation changes the energy pattern. It is absorbing the energy of being observed, and providing the output of what's "expected". It's the same concept of people wearing mask in public, and removing the mask in private. Performing "expectations". Expectations are numerical, all things are actually. Human particles are reacting in the same manner. Humans just have a full "system" in which plays out multiple effects in the 3D…manifestations. Which puts us right back at the beginning. Observing, ie THOUGHT, creating the desired effect. Hope that makes sense😉

We need to stop calling quantum mechanics "weird" and drop the sci-fi mystery. "Measurement" is just environmental entanglement. When an atom or molecule interacts via chemical bonds, temperature shifts, or kinetic collisions, energy levels change—forcing the emission and absorption of photons. That photon exchange IS the measurement.

This interaction forces atoms into their classical states so chemical bonds can actually form—electrons must be localized for bonds to occur. Because our world has heat, constant temperature shifts cause electron energy changes and instant decoherence. No conscious human or macro lab instruments are required to "look" at it; physics happens, and the world renders itself. Matter and energy simply propagate as both waves and particles.

When particles are in a superposition, they aren't hiding in another universe. Think of an atom as a hotel with a few clients and many rooms. In a classical, measured state, those clients check into just a few specific rooms, leaving the rest of the hotel empty. But in a superposition, those clients fill EVERY single room at the exact same time. It’s this dense, wave-propagated energy packing every single atom that makes our macro-world feel so completely solid.

Our universe operates as a unified 11-dimensional manifold that can be split into Macro and Micro. The Macro consists of the first 4 dimensions (3 spatial dimensions and 1 temporal dimension). The Micro contains 6 dimensions compactified as Calabi-Yau manifolds at every single Planck unit of our 4D world tesseract, defining the vector degrees of freedom that manifest elementary particles. They aren't sci-fi destinations or alternate worlds—they are coordinates. The 11th dimension is simply the membrane unifying the quantum field.

Time (the 4th coordinate) ticks forward steadily governed by thermodynamics, moving from cause to effect. The future is a high-entropy mathematical cloud of infinite possible coordinate configurations. But the present is an active rendering engine where all the energy in the universe is at work right NOW, creating all the matter that exists in the present and collapsing those probabilities into a single, fixed, low-entropy past.

This is the fatal flaw of the Many-Worlds Interpretation. MWI forces you to assume there is an impossible, infinite reservoir of external energy capable of physically duplicating an entire 11-dimensional universe—fully charged with real matter and energy—at every single Planck moment of a quantum branch.

It is far more logically sound and parsimonious to realize that alternative outcomes aren't physical parallel worlds. They are simply mathematical probabilities existing within the high-entropy cloud of the future, right until the thermodynamic engine of the present locks them into a single, immutable timeline.

I THINK (in words), THEREFORE I AM (conscious).
I AM my memory (such as it is) of everything my body has experienced since I developed the ability to label experiences with words. My body remembers to avoid painful situations. My verbal ability allows my 'mind' to "think' about those situations and plan ways of avoiding them. My 'mind' (the true ME) exists merely to serve my body. When my body has reached the end of its lifespan (I have already experienced more than 32,000 days in my 91 years on earth), my 'mind' will go where it has gone that same number of times: "… to sleep; no more"

I kind of like your old videos. There's no information about the speaker, no meta-analysis of the speaker, or judgement. Just focusing on what he's saying and engaging in a series of thoughts that either relate or contradict.

Boy, this video realistically says a whole lot of nothing. This is so poorly written that I’d wager AI was heavily involved in the script.

This is extremely weird, but I do think we have to question our sense of continuity in the world. On an atomic level, nothing of our former selves remains within our bodies, and everything is always in a state of change, which is really the only constant. The self tries to cling to the reality of unchanging objects and bodies to not lose its grip, but this is the cause of much of our suffering too.

I was thinking this very thing yesterday — that there have been times I should have died but didn't, and that maybe I did in some other reality, and I kept going in this reality as to not have to experience it, which led me to wonder if the deaths of others I've encountered weren't encountered by the person dying, and now they're living on in some alternate reality where they survived, which means there's an alternate me there still a part of their life, unless I'm now dead over there… my brain hurts.

Many Worlds is seemingly the ideal ancestor simulation model. It's scale is absurd to our senses. But for a wildly advanced civilization, what would be absurd (and way too old school) would be running a standalone idiosyncratic program to assess a particular ancestor evolution. Instead, when you command sufficient resources, you don't bat an eye at doing "Everything All At Once"… invoking complete sensitivity at the smallest of scale while also concurrently exploring all levels of probability.

The problem with this theory is it assumes every possible death experience is reliant on a quantum interaction. Since 99% of the time all the molecules in our body are interacting with each other, the wave function is always collapsed, so there’s very few outcomes that are actually reliant on quantum uncertainty.

I can't understand any theory that suggests that there is something seperate from the meat in the skull which is the brain.

The self, ego, voice in the head, call it whatever you want, is so isolated in the head its trying to understand it self , it want to feel free, it keeps on inventing stories, consciousness, awareness, all these theories are just how the mind entertain it self. Unfortunate and cruel by nature.

The self is destined to never understand, you can't get out of your brain and look at your self, you can't see what's outside, you can't seperate your self from ur self and call your self awareness, these ALL are thoughts, saying I'm awareness is same as saying the cat is hungry, just words, language, dead sound.

I know this seems frivolous, but this made me think of the double Xander episode of Buffy. Not to be confused with the doppelgänger episode with Willow. Very different machinations.

I am a bit surprised to see the animation at https://youtu.be/gm8Bj2kCkfs?t=49
Because since childhood, ive had "nightmares" about this exact same situation – in which i am falling infinitely like the character in the animation. Falling backwards into a deep well, circular walls, that is infinite. And everytime i pass throught a flat "level", it opens up and i keep falling.
Its the same damn dream everytime. Every few years.
How the heck is my dream depicted in this animation.
