Edit: You can't get drunk off of mouthwash. There are enough additives in there that make you throw up first. So Swansea is in a placebo effect and Anya knew she wasn't going to accomplish termination of her or the fetus.
Curly's best bet isn't the Pony company, yes. They might send someone for a loss report.
But in 20 years, he has a chance someone might find him when they come to loot the ship. Maybe it's a hope in my brain because my mom finally got to use her first aid training in the grocery store today and got her good samaritan feels. Thieves have their own code of ethics and I think if they can get passed all the F-ed up things they see in the ship to find Curly, they'd be interested in the whole story, provided they could remove the pod or were willing to take the risk of taking him out for medical care on their ship.
Or maybe I want it on record that Jimmy was the whole reason why and how. Maybe the game itself is Curly relaying this information, since the ship would have been in rough enough shape that there were no records after the crash. But he would need a hell of a lot of medical care, something he couldn't afford. It would depend on how badly someone else wants to know what happened.
And to be honest, I kind of didn't like that Curly was the one to be in the pod. Yes, I would have been p*ssed as hell if Jimmy inserted himself. But Curly truly was on his last week or so of living before being put in. I do feel bad Daisuke didn't get to go. The one I wanted in there the most was Anya, which I think Swansea would have allowed. But she didn't know there was a pod and I don't think she would have trusted Jimmy not to smash it in just so she couldn't have it.

5:00 i would like to also make the talking point that space turns people into sort of shells of who they were planet bound
Nobody shows empathy
And morals get thrown out the window
Just wanted to make a talking point feel free to add to this.

I tried playing this game. And I am a fan of all forms of horror.
But I couldn't finish thus due to what they did to Anya. Hell I'm a guy. And yeah I'll defend my loved ones. But bit against consequences of their own actions.
YT isn't a fan of me going into detail. But I have eventually handed what was once friends to police for hurting their gf or wife, or worse yet in one case a random woman. I've seen what that stuff can do to people and can't stand it.

Thank you for speaking about your Mom. I'm currently a caregiver for my mother who has terminal cancer. I felt less alone and a bit more hopeful, in a way. Thanks.

The way I read the scene where Anya and Swansea talk, she finally told him, but also asked him not to act or confront Jimmy because she knows that Jimmy is a ticking time bomb. Fawning is a trauma response to keep oneself safe but she might also have believed placating Jimmy and keeping him in a good mood would keep everyone safe. They're a small group. Swansea, aging and his body affected by his past alcoholism, Daisuke is a friendly kid who'd most likely hesitate to fight with the intention to hurt or even kill, Curly would have been better off dead, and she didn't succeed at fighting Jimmy off before.
I believe her fawning is an emotional but also strategic response. If Swansea had confronted or attacked Jimmy then and there, there'd have been a realistic risk of Swansea losing or ending up injured. We already see how out of his mind Jimmy is while he believes Anya didn't tell anyone and he can lie to himself that he didn't do anything wrong. And we see that eventually, he's spiraling and losing it. He drugs people, manipulates and sacrifices the most gullible crew mate who believes in the good in people, and he is not sorry for what his actions and decisions do to others. Be it Curly's horrible state, Anya's pregnancy and death, Daisuke's injury and the mercy killing, or when he kills Swansea. He only cares about how 'failing' to 'fix' everything would make him look.
Basically, he spirals and escalates and gets everyone killed directly or indirectly anyway. And I do believe that Anya hoped that stopping Swansea from cornering Jimmy could have prevented this, at least for a while until they figured something out.
Would also explain why Swansea went out of his way to be disrespectful to Jimmy and refused at first to allow him access to the ax. I think after the conversation with Anya he agreed not to give Jimmy the beating he deserved, but was ready to do it as soon as Anya gave a sign or the situation allowed for it.
As a side note, I wish Curly had been gender neutral or gender ambiguous. It's not just the dismissal of female victims due to the sausage club mentality I see represented in him. But the dismissal by the notorious peacekeeper. The other parent/sibling/aunt/uncle/grandparent who knows deep down that the victim says the truth but keeps denying it to themselves thanks to the all-too-common "what shouldn't be can't be and therefore, isn't!" attitude. There has to be a misunderstanding! You must have misinterpreted their touches/words wrong! Are you sure you didn't dream it? Or that someone else did it but you're confused? Maybe you did or say something that they misunderstood and while it's not quite right, they were right to assume you agreed to it, this is too serious, there are two sides, I cannot say who is lying, I stay neutral, I'm not taking sides blah blah blah
And for Curly, this ends at the start of the game, when the 'neutral' voice becomes a true neutral, inconsequential observer. Unable to take sides even if he wanted to, one way or the other, unable to help, or even comment, forced to watch the consequences of his "this cannot be, I'm sure there's a harmless explanation! Let's wait and see and not talk about it in the meanwhile!" mindset.
A mindset that hurts victims and shields evil, and that isn't exclusive to any gender.

Well, Jimmy seems to be attracted to ponies and Polle gets the color of Anyas voice… I think most of the time Polle actually stand for guilt and sometimes Anya… the pony baby seems to be the result from f* around with a pony….

This was the second piece of horror media ever to make me physically ill. And that was before I fully clued in to what happened to Anya.
For those of you who could never play or watch things like this or who have certain triggers (like me!), don't forget that it doesn't make you any weaker. You are taking care of yourself and that is far more important. ❤
(For anybody curious, the first media piece to make me physically ill was "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon". I have no idea why but the scene where he starts his Michael Myers spree genuinely almost had me upchuck. It still causes me to feel ill whenever I remember it and it's been almost a decade since I watched it.)

I've been watching your videos for something 12 years or more at this point. I'll admit I haven't kept up with all your recent releases but I still check in every now and again and watch videos I've missed that look interesting. I doubt you'll see this or reply but I just wanted to ask how you've been doing lately. Everything been good in life? I really hope things are going great!

I interpret Curly a bit differently. Now he certainly has his fair share of the blame for the situation, no doubt about that. However he's the "model employee", stuck in a corporate job that slowly breaks you down and puts you in a routine of utmost compliance. It's all over the posters, no more than 5 hours of sleep a day, pay cuts for using medical supplies, late deliveries, and HR complaints. Heck each employee can only have one slice of cake apparently for the communal birthday! I doubt there's a brig and handcuffs as the only tool for "keeping the crew in line" is a gun and the only places with locks are the medbay, the cockpit, and the cargo hold (which Swansea so succinctly said to not open as he'd rather die than not get paid). Yeah he really should've used that gun in hindsight, but most people don't typically go to such violent solutions at first, especially when it comes to someone you know. I really think he was stuck in that mindset of trying to please everyone and keep the situation under control like a good employee and in the end it got most everyone killed. Sure some of it was probably friend related defense with a sprinke of denial but I wouldn't boil down his response of the situation as entirely the boys club at work, more like an analysis paralysis my job never taught me how to handle this reaction. Curly could've and should've done more but the circumstances were also against him. Pony Express, truly a company that definitely does not care and set everyone up for failure.
@Azmarith

Roses, I really like you're channel, but there are a few things that I would like to push back on here. Jimmy is very much the bad guy in all this. He's manipulating everyone. Yet, you seem to be blaming the other male crew members for no other reason that they are male. I think that the reason that Curley isn't taking Anya's accusations as seriously as he should because Jimmy is manipulating him as well. It's easy to look in from the outside and say that he should have done more, but many men have lived experiences where they have had false accusations made against them, or at least have been threatened with false allegations. So, when a woman makes an accusation, there is a lot of doubt of whether it's true or not. After that, the next rational thing to do is to look for evidence of what happened. People then accuse people like Curly of victim blaming, and that he should have just taken Anya at her word without any evidence. But if you think about it, that's actually a bit suspicious. Why would someone pressure you to belive something without evidience if what they are saying is actually true? Saying that Anya wasn't believed because it's a "boys club" isn't helpful. It comes accross as using social presure to get someone to act without evidence. While I think that you're coming from a good place, I don't think that way of thinking is constructive.

You know a game's going into some DARK psychological places when one of the main characters is made to resemble Evangelion Unit 01 as it appeared in Episode 20.

May 18, 2026 at 7:47 am
The game is vague on how, and I read it as Jimmy had a hookup and was now ghosting her, as the ship was on the tail end before he found out she was pregnant, so there are some real consequences he can't mentally handle.
Edit: I might also be male, so I did not notice the context clues that he assaulted her.
@Strain42
May 18, 2026 at 7:47 am
There's always something extra terrifying about purely human driven horror with no supernatural elements. I personally loved your take on this game and it made for a great video. Mouthwashing was such a good game with a lot of layers to it. I personally thought it got a little less interesting when it got into the body horror hallucination bits, but I get why they were there and arguably help provide a lot of thumbnail and press release stuff to make the game seem more exciting. But the narrative weight really helps carry it in a big way.

hot take: it's mouthwash, because like me the writers like the Mouthwash song by Trevor Moore and they thought it would be innteresting in a horror scenario

I always wondered why Swansea didn't offer Anya the cryopod. Wouldn't that have given them a chance to save her and her baby? Did she lose her baby? Would the cryopod keep her and the baby alive? I guess it doesn't particularly matter.

Curly and Jimmy clearly seem to have a history together. He falsified Jimmy's credentials to be in the ship, so it gives this idea that he has been covering for him for a long time while Jimmy has relied on Curly to cover his ass and deluding himself that he is this competent great person. When Anya tells Curly what happens and Curly's reaction makes me think less of a Boy's club and more someone that has to cover for a friend or family member out of a feeling of obligation and self guilt. He was the one that let Jimmy in so his failures also weight on Curly.
feel what really gives me chills is how real it feels. I sure HOPE nobody has dealt with a 1:1 Jimmy or Curly, but I'm pretty sure we have all seen or met types like them in our lives. People that get in powerful places because of others allowing them to slip in and then believe their own hype. People who refuse to see themselves as wrong in any way and others who out of some twisted feeling of obligation they must coddle these Jimmies to relieve then of accountability

I can't help but think that at any point when Curly was shown that Jimmy was an irredeemable antisocial actor, if he had killed Jimmy, it would have been a massive net positive compared to how everything played out.
The real world has plenty of this kind of trolley problem.

Anya IS a good nurse though. And I think that the “Anya is a bad nurse” narritive was Jimmy projecting. Jimmy thinks so lowly of Anya so she can’t POSSIBLY be a good nurse.
