I got this call once and the guy asked for my name, and I asked "You don't know my name?" and he said no, so I replied with, "How do you know that I won?". He hung up.

Unironically I can't stand people who yell at/cuss out scam callers rather than just hanging up. Most of the time they're people who can't afford a living with no choice. Blame the people running it, not the people forced to be in it

The only time Julie has been more heart-wrenchingly adorable was the dinosaur extinction bit. I know it's satire, but it just makes me think that a lot of these telemarketers are just people. Sure, don't give some random stranger your national id/social security number, but at least 30% of them are genuinely just doing their job. A friend's wife works at a call center and she's not a bad person, she's just doing her job… also, the dinosaurs did nothing wrong and were far more awesome than humanity ever was. They did their thing, not bothering nobody, for 300+ million years till that asteroid. We haven't even existed as a species for 1 million, and we think we're all that… Maybe I just have a thing for dinosaurs? Questions to think about.

I have actually met people like this who are so very inherently honest and good souled, that they are baffled when they encounter a person lying at all. They are precious, and oh so often, they have to be protected from this cruel world's barbs and hooks.

My reaction: “Is she…. Is she southern?”

Where did that accent come from? That sounds really accurate. A little Georgia peach innocence to it. Like… wow… well done!
