The KLF: Beyond The Band That Burnt £1,000,000 I New British Canon

If you’ve heard of the KLF, you probably know them as a band that burnt a million pounds. But that is only the conclusion to their story. The journey that led them to the Isle of Jura on that fateful August morning in 1994 is even more fascinating.
A journey that includes getting sued by ABBA, gaining a number one single in the guise of a talking car, pioneering at least one genre of dance music and becoming one of the most successful singles bands of the early 90s. They were two men compelled by the forces of chaos to spread as much confusion as possible and they transformed that into a pop career. This is New British Canon and this is the Story of The KLF.

What time is love etc yes. However, if you burn a million pounds because 'ideology', you don't film it. If you burn a million pounds because 'story' – then you video it. In which case, it's a lot cheaper to pretend to burn a million pounds and film that, than it is to actually burn a million pounds. Just saying.

I know so many of the songs, but I never knew the million dollar story til now, actually, I knew nothing about their story, including about The Orb, although the songs, yes. Then again, I grew up in Brazil. Glad the music has arrived there, though!

The fact that they put everything on streaming platforms is so disappointing. It's so… out of character, yknow? Its not like it wasn't already widely available, and since they owned it and they didn't care, it's not like it was illegal either (even if it technically was… it's music, nobody cares or has cared for like 25 years now – even then, most people who cared were lars ulrich)

I bought the KLFs album "The White Room" a week after I'd bought a new set of Jamo D365 speakers, by the end of the first week of the album coming out I had really pissed off all my neighbours. If you know anything about those particular speakers you'll understand why…. 🔈🔉🔊

I just happen to have a copy of Doctorin' the Tardis on CDV-Single. Yes, it's actually a 5-inch LaserDisc. Unfortunately suffered from laser-rot, I think, as there were plenty of sparklies last time I played it. Gold-coloured coating, which I think was usually the case for CD-V.
