Project Hail Mary Part 2 – would be a sequel from the perceptive of Rocky and Eridians on their planet, discovering the Petrova line and how they must achieve space flight quickly for the first time beyond their planet. The story will show the life of Rocky and all 22 of his crewmates each having a captivating life story which then ends in tragedy includes battling the dangers of space and the unknown along the way. Also, it would be hard to believe that the Eridians and Earthlings would be the only race to be effected by the Petrova line so it be Eridian ship with just rocky on his own to discover a couple other aliens races in his travel through the star system. Yet these alien races were primitive and not quite advanced as the Eridians as they could not save their sun from the Petrova line because their inferior technology. Rocky tried to help them yet couldn't due to the erratic solar flames from other dying stars and the destruction of other planets crashing into each other. The dangers here would be more nailbiting than what the Hail Mary faced in Part 1 as the destruction of the alien suns created a supernova where Rocky must escape the shockwave or be destroyed himself. Being sadden by this where all he could do is continue on with his mission alone, Part 2 ends when he discovered an alien ship, the Hail Mary.

This concept would be cool for a sequel.

And the title could be named "Arise [Erid Ship in Eridian]

I saw at least three places the the movie could have/should have ended. It just kept going. I needed an explanation because I couldn't keep up with the dialogue. What happened to all the other star in the universe that were being "eaten"?

One thing I haven't encountered is that our world/solar system (as well as Rocky's) was saved by GRACE! In His grace, God is willing to forgive us and bless us abundantly, in spite of the fact that we don’t deserve to be treated so well or dealt with so generously.

I loved the book, but only liked the movie. I felt the story was softened a little for the movie. There were many fabulous scenes left out…there was nothing about nuking the glacier, the accident at the solar array, and most missed for me was the courtroom scene where Stratt shows what a badass she is.

The Unabridged – Project: Hail Mary – from Audible is 16 hours long. To do it justice I think Amazon / MGM should commission a 16 hour mini-series and return to Tau Ceti .. its not like they've never done a do over. They could even use Ryan Gosling and the Movie could serve as the Abdriged cut.

If Grace had a family he would have seen the situation differently. When I saw this movie and I saw what he was confronted with all I could think of was my family. For them I could have made the trip. Good movie.

I wish they had kept more of the science from the book in the movie. Would have been east to introduce with dialogue sort of like Interstellar didn't shy relativity and time dilation. I know it's not a physics class but still…

I've never read the book and knew nothing about it. Overall it was just OK for me; fun but not as good as the Martian. The movie seemed too long but also felt rushed? And why was Grace a Mary Sue? Lol He could do anything and everything!
