Remember When | February 22, 2026

Remember when That ’70s Show gave us Red’s burn-filled parenting, Hyde’s conspiracy theories, Kelso’s beautiful stupidity, and Donna and Eric’s endless ā€œwill they, won’t they.ā€ This nostalgic comedy captured the weird, wonderful chaos of growing up in the suburbs—and made stars out of Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher Grace, Wilmer Valderrama, and Laura Prepon.

The Dutch called it: New Amsterdam (Nieuw Amsterdam). They founded it as a colonial settlement in the early 17th century.
The British called it: New York. After the British took control of the colony in 1664, they renamed it in honor of the Duke of York.
The thing Americans "hate to say": This is a witty play on words. Americans "hate to say" "I was wrong" or "I'm sorry" (often joked about by British and Dutch observers as a cultural trait). Alternatively, in a more literal sense, many Americans—especially those from the city itself—hate to say the full name "New York City", almost always referring to it simply as "The City."

A popular fan theory suggests he is from the Virgin Islands (specifically the Dutch/US Virgin Islands). Clues supporting this include his mentions of a British-occupied island, the ability to speak Dutch, and his friend speaking with a British accent…And if you think about it, he’s always obsessed about losing his virginity!!! šŸ‡»šŸ‡¬

Love that video. Just like everything about T70S. Watching it still feels like reuniting with one of the best parts of my youth, some close friends. It's amazing and will be.

Just I disagree a bit about T90S. It was not great, true, and just like T80S it relied to much on the decade. But at the same time, it had its moments, we had some reuniting, and I am very sure that it would have found its tone, had it been given more time. I liked watching it – maybe 70% nostalgia as a preason, but still. I didn't expect it to be as good as the original, because nothing could be. And let's be honest: T70S would not have worked today.
