I have a question. Has no one ever hit any of these cats. I am close to the age of 80 and I have had cats and dogs all of my life, starting at birth. I have never been bitten. I have snapped at a cat's nose with my fingers. Two or three times and the cat seems to realize what they did is not acceptable. I can hug and pet with no problems. A snap on the nose seems to get their attention. Dogs seem to want to please more, so not a problem. Cats are independent, which I like, but there will be no biting and we always worked that out. I also had a friend that used a child's water gun and that worked. Getting rid of my cats was never an option. And biting has never been consistent so they are entitled to a bad day as everyone has. Things can get bad when both cat and dog are not having a good day. I cannot imagine allowing something like this to go on for long.

This is a good episode that really kind of unifies three types of pet owners (none worse for the wear if they have the right pet for their own nature):
    – the casual
    – the emotional
    – the expert

The casual is the husband. He has clear ideas of boundaries of which he does not want the pet to preach. And this is a good thing! It protects other people like family from being hurt by thr pet's problematic or harmful behavior. The DOWNSIDE is that casuals also usually have fewer options in their mind as to how to handle these. They also do not put as much effort into understanding the behavior, at least not right off the pat. But they are importand for awknowledging that something needs to change.

The emotional owner is someone very attached to their pet, who puts the pet above everyone else. Most lone pet owners fit here, as the pet is often their most trusted companion. They are wonderful and caring owners, who will try everything and anything to make their pet's life good. The DOWNSIDES are that they can become blind to the not so stellar aspects of their pet. A dog that attacks other walkers, a cat like Littles. The animal needs help, but the owner might in their desparation face the whole world as a threat to their pet, instead of trying to understand the cat to fix the issue. (I belong in this group and I also kind of placed Sherry here, thought she becomes a little more like an expert as the episode goes on.)

Experts- Jackson, of course. A pet owner, who understands that the pet is first and foremost an animal. They have their own behaviors that they exclude and while they have addapted some of ours to communicate, the pets also need us to understand some of THEIR behaviors. For examble, the slow blink are cat's way to communicate trust and affection. But cats also use litterboxes bcs we humans teach them that is where we want them to mark their territory. Expert understands this. The downside of an expert (some exceptions like Jackson, he is both human and pet whisperer) is that they might not be able to understand the way other pet owners work. They take pride in having the most knowledge, so some might even feel threatenes by people who do not know as much about the pet they have as an expert would.

These are just my observations- they are not scientific and not at all absolute. But I have noticed a pattern and I thought it was interesting. Most probplems with pets come down to finding the right behavior to communicate between the pet and the owner. So before you judge the mindset of a desparate owner- be aware that they need help too. Not just the pet.

Jackson already figured out all the the other cats constantly barging in to Littles' territory while Littles is pent up in the house and not able to do anything about it. Then Jackson after successfully hand-feeding the cat, also realizes the cat is not hopeless or crazy when he introduces the slow blink and Littles is completely responsive. So basically the couple fixes up the house more, Littles no longer is on high alert, and now comes around people to do normal cat things like leg rubs, coming up to you, attention seeking, etc. So basically this environment put this cat into high alert, cat.exe was not bugged.

Why would they put Littles down? She’s not sick or terminally ill. She has behavioral issues because the humans aren’t meeting her basic needs.

Also, why not let another loving family adopt her and giving her another chance instead of ending her life because they’re not fit to be cat parents?

I had a friend with a cat that I wanted to pet so badly, cause he was so soft and beautiful, but that animal was just mean spirited. He would rub against you, or roll on his back like he wanted to be pet, but if you put a hand on him he would claw and bite immediately.

Stupid show. I have worked with cats and wildlife my whole 60 years. His approach on camera is only antagonistic. No one looks at an angry animal that way without expecting a defensive response. This is not the forum for animal rehab. I just want to bugger off this series. I would not disperse this nonsense because people will only aggravate the defenseless animals. There is no quick diagnosis or quick fix. Even for a megabucks payday unqualified crittur whisperer.

My aunt once had a sweet cat that simply didn't want people reaching for her. If you understood this and respected that she'd practically velcro herself to you. Because that meant you were somebody who got it and you were 'safe'.

It seems so strange that this cat was theirs since she was a baby. First thing that came to me was a physical malady, like tooth pain, but they must've already been to a vet, no? I've never seen a non-feral cat behave so aggressively.

Honestly, every episode of this I watch the owners are the weird ones, not the cat. I've been around cats my whole life and I'm telling you, cats don't act like that unless someone pushes them to that point.

I've never known a cat to behave like that unless they have been extremely tormented, either by children or perhaps a cat-hating husband. Sure outside cats can freak them out a bit, but I'd get a nanny cam to check out what Kat Killa Darren is doing to littles when no one else is around. Littles' bad behavior is perfect excuse for him to dispose of the cat.

If these guys pretended to own a black cat and stressed him out just for this cat-hate video they should be banned from owning animals…
