I will add a 16th fact that I personally think is truth. In 1977, one year before taxi came out, I was in Los Angeles for a vacation from the east coast. While I was in L.A. I decided to visit a number of the studios and fill out job applications. It didn't matter what kind of a job, it only mattered that it was in L.A. I went to Universal, 20th Century Fox and Paramount studios in that order. I was with two friends who came out with me but elected not to fill out any applications but went with me. At Paramount, unlike the other studios, I actually got to do a in-person interview, it was all spur of the moment, in the lobby. The guy who I was interviewing with, asked me where I was from because of my accent. I said I'm from Philly, like yo Adrienne, from the movie Rocky. He laughed and said Louie DePalma (my name on the app was Louis), that's pretty funny. I left the interview and didn't think to much about it, however, a year later I went to cash my paycheck at the bank (no direct deposits in those days) and the teller said I saw you on TV last night, and I said what are you talking about??? She said there is a show called taxi and the main character is called Louie DePalma, I thought she was on drugs but the next week sure enough, taxi was on and I couldn't believe it when Danny DeVito was called my name on the show. True story and because I don't have a common name, I always thought they got it from my job application the year before, at least I have been thinking that since 1978.

After seeing Christopher Lloyd in Taxi, seeing him as Cmdr Kruge in Star Trek III was shocking. I was so used to him as Rev Jim, seeing him be so angry, duplicitous and mean was amazing. He totally nailed it, and I was very surprised. Yeah, yeah, I know, he's a pro, he actually knows how to act, but I was a teen and only saw him as Rev Jim until ST III.

In one scene Elaine was very upset and depressed, and Reverend Jim offered her a drug that would make her forget all her problems and feel wonderful. But he warned her, "It has one terrible side effect."
    "What's that?"
    "It wears off." 🤣

Similar to the hopeful boxer role of Tony Danza, as soon as Jeanette Goldstein walked in to the office, with her buffed and muscular body, she was cast on the spot for Vasquez in Aliens.

Binge watching the show, three things become very quickly clear. 1) Andy Kaufman is barely in it 2) Christopher Lloyd is a genius 3) John in Season 1 was a pointless character

8:02 the "pre-fame gold mine" One of the more fun little exercises is to go on IMDB and look at a series from the 80s–particularly shows you haven't really revisited — then look up some of the then no-names that were one-time guests. You'll get some great eye-openers. "Wait… Don Cheadle was on Hill Street Blues??" Julia Louis-Dreyfus was on Family Ties??"

It doesn't have to be that far back, mind you, but that's the Goldilocks range for my age range. Too recent, and it's, "Yes, I DO remember noticing Jane Lynch in the West Wing press room even when the episode aired." Too far back, and it's "No, I don't remember Hector Elizondo on All In The Family, but I don't remember that show well enough for that to be interesting."

I used to watch reruns with my dad when I was very young. Why as a child did I have such a huge crush on Judd Hirsch?! I mean Tony Danza was there. Jeff Conaway was there. But nope, for me I loved Alex. And I still love Judd Hirsch! I think it’s his voice.

That stupid theme song wrecked the show! It was so dull, boring and dramatic people turned the station just to make it stop! Look at the theme song for Three's Company and contrast. They needed a theme song that didn't feel depressed or maybe they were chasing M.A.S.H. for most depressing theme music on a comedy?

Interesting to learn about Henner’s memory, but I don’t think it’s as rare as you think. My wife seems to be able to recall every stupid thing I’ve done with perfect clarity.

22:00 Eleven labs having some troubs saying his name huh? 😏 Yuppp. You gotta enunciate it better in your wording usage and stitch edit better. Not beating the Ai allegations today! I still watch ya tho 🙂

In Season 1, Randall Carver was John Burns, but I never knew why he left the show. His character was a college student driving a cab to help pay expenses. His family offered to help him financially so that he wouldn't have to drive a cab anymore. However, I've never heard why he was written out of the show. John Burns has been forgotten just like Chuck Cunningham. In Season 3 Episode 5, Victor Buono was introduced .as Jim's father. It was revealed that Jim's last name was Caldwell and that his father was a wealthy man who lived in Boston, Another episode indicated that Jim took LSD while a student at Harvard. I love "Angela's Theme". It was on the playlist of a radio station where I was The Operations Manager. It even included the secretary saying: "Good night , Mr. Walters!" at the end.

Such an amazing, legendary cast. Bob James' title song lives in my memory. Can't believe it's been 50 years!
Didn't know what was happening with Jeff Conaway, tho 🙏

One of the last few Checker Marathons built, the iconic NYC cab, was ordered by the set of Taxi and was used on set. It was sold to a NYC taxi company where it continued the rest of its life until it was scrapped.

Too funny… i hadn't seen Taxi in decades. Found it on PlutoTV and started binging it the day before this video dropped.

Even funnier, he references Memories of Cab 804… the first episode i watched when i started binging!
