After a rocky start in the public opinion based on some questionable CGI choices, the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie ended up being a surprise hit– and thus, a sequel was ordered almost immediately. This time around, Sonic is joined by other fan favorites from the game– Tails and Knuckles.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 definitely raises a few questions. Like is it okay to travel internationally via portal like that? Why are we spending so much time on this sister-in-law wedding storyline? Does Sonic sometimes forget that he has superspeed? Did Sonic just kill a guy? What was up with that agency’s plan for catching Sonic and how did they think that was a good strategy?!

4:41 This was biggest complaint about this movie. I really don’t like when they spend a bunch of time on the random unimportant human characters when it’s supposed to be about Sonic. Luckily the third movie didn’t do this and it was so good!!!

Irony about the final stinger is they DID, somehow, end up sticking Jim Kerry in that fat suit for the third movie (all-be-it, only briefly), leaving the internet to speculate… about the fat suit?…. NO! About why he came out of retirement (the running internet theory is he ran out of cash and/or lost a pricey divorse proceeding…)

I can already see it now. Screenwriter Guy and Producer Guy are lamenting the fact that Jim Carrey is retired, but then the screen flashes with an article about Jim Carrey coming back for Sonic 3, and then the Pitch Meeting truly begins.
