If I'm gonna buy a sexy robot maid i don't want her to demand rights and i don't want her to be a normal human. She needs to have bright glowing eyes, maybe some sort of visor/lcd screen for eyes, and she needs to be willing to do butt stuff without hesitation. There's literally no point to owning a robot if if doesn't have cool robot eyes and do butt stuff, those are the 2 most important features and I feel like you failed to deliver on both.

Any self-aware creature, whether robot or flesh, should have rights appropriate to their level of understanding and character. If they can choose how to live and follow their own will, feeling a purpose to thrive, they are no longer a "thing." And if they are cognitively similar to or beyond an adult, they become an independent individual — not an animal you can own, nor a child you can take custody of.

And yes, children are not only born through sex and pregnancy. You are the father or mother of any self-aware creature you produce, even if you create them in a pod. Furthermore, just as it is a moral failing to bring a child into a bad environment or without meaningful reasons for their existence, it is also a serious moral transgression to create a self-aware being without providing them with enough care or purpose to live. One can even argue that no non-religious reason in life can justify making another being suffer the burden of existence, especially in the suffering-ridden world we live in.

This is like every Family Guy "joke" for the past 20 years, eversince they entered zombie mode : what if we took a surreal situation and gave it mundane dialogues ? The result is always… boring.

I would love a plot twist where the betrayal never happens and they just have a really good father son relationship while his friend keeps misinterpreting every single thing the robo guy does as possibly a betrayal.
