RARE CRATE DIGGING FIND: Mountain Goats “Tropical Depression EP” Vinyl

I stumbled upon this super rare 7-inch single featuring Mountain Goats and Furniture Huschle called the “Tropical Depression EP” last weekend while crate digging in Fort Worth, TX. Though I paid a whopping $30 for it, the only copy I’ve been able to find online would run about $100 after tax and shipping to the US.

Released in 1996, this split 7-inch EP includes five songs and is quintessential John Darnielle from the mid 1990s. You get lo-fi acoustic folk with powerful hooks and great melodies! Furniture Huschle is Joel Huschle (incorrectly referred to as John in the video), and his stuff is a bit more experimental.
