Prove Me Wrong About Teenage Dirtbag.
I’ve wanted to do a video about Wheatus and it’s quite the coincidence that Teenage Dirtbag is currently having a resurgence at the moment, of course, because of TikTok. They deserve it. This has to be the best rock song written in the last 22 years? Am I wrong? C’mon guys, it’s incredible. If you think I’m wrong, please tell me what song in this timeframe is better and more iconic and will last the test of time like this incredible hit has.

It’s such an ear worm of a song. You hear it and it sticks in your mind. It’s just a great little song. It’s simple, they kept it simple didn’t add pretentious fluff, nope… this is it and it’s great the way it is for what it is, a super replay-able radio pop/rock hit. ❤

Hi Justin, I saw Wheatus this year. With Bowling For Soup, Wheatus opened with Growing on me and they absolutely nailed it. ❤

To clarify, a "douchebag" is somebody that's obnoxious, wheras a "dirtbag" is somebody that's sketchy and/or scruffy (often a criminal). Dirtbag is used as a stand-in for geek/nerd in this song but it's not quite the correct usage. However, it is memorable and serves as the anchor for the entire song.

Last week my son was playing teenage dirtbag in his car, he has seen him in a little club, in Bradford, England, they was only 100 in the crowd, the song came out when he was only 2 years old.

Dude the drummer is happy because he gets to beat the shit out of a drumset everyother night. While the rest of the band has to suffer their verious depressions and built up anger in solitude..😂😂

When Wheatus was signed with their record label Walmart refused to sell the record at its department stores because the word “Guns” in the lyrics due to the recent Columbine High school shooting in Colorado. I think its a fantastic song way under rated sadly

lol I love the musings on the meaning of "dirtbag"… its not really used like douche bag as that tends to indicate more intentional antagonistic behavior… dirtbag gets used more for like lowlife? burnout? someone on the fringe living in the margins… as a teen the type to cut class or shirk responsibility as a rule… which is where the rebellious bit you read comes from, rebellious to be rebellious rather than like in the name of some principle.

Brandon Is a Fucking Beast on vocals. And the song is so simpole E,B,E,A and that little riff is so simple but awesome in its simplicity. And a really Big Chorus that kind of gets you in that vibe and makes you……..untouchable!!!!!
