There's something about this that takes my mind to 90's alt/grunge while still somehow staying country… The tonal quality and cadence makes me hang on every word while also getting lost and realizing I haven't absorbed a single sentence because the sounds are too pretty to focus… It's equal parts "play it again" and "sit in silence now". I'm hearing hints of Gabe Lee, Pink Floyd, Neil Young… Nothing about it is overstated or overpowering. Like a four course meal where the chef took extra care to pair the wine with that edible you had on the way over…
